Congratulations to Melissa Sugar, an art teacher at Villa Maria School in Timonium, MD for over two decades, who was recognized through our “Kick It with Cricket,” program rewarding deserving educators nationwide with new phones and cash prizes. Ms. Sugar was nominated by Aelicia Lee Porter, the mother of one of her students. She says Ms. Sugar goes “above and beyond” to unleash her students’ creativity, connect them with scholarships, and make her art room a space for them to be themselves.

With a year-round focus on uplifting youth, our Hispanic Heritage Month campaign recognized the next generation of changemakers eager to push progress forward. We're working with swiirl to showcase young Latino talent and give them a platform to express their process, inspiration, and artistic aspirations. Watch the video to see how Edward Chanquín surrounds himself with perspectives different from his own to further push his art and goals.

It’s Serve Customers First Week but we’re dedicated to celebrating our customers and employees all year round. Itsalia Lopez, Cricket Associate Director, embodies a year-round passion for service beyond her Cricket role. She leads community outreach efforts, engaging with the Hispanic community and providing quarterly support to the homeless through food assistance programs. As former President of the Atlanta chapter of HACEMOS at AT&T, an employee resource group, she oversaw fundraising for scholarships for Hispanic students. Her journey—from growing up in Puerto Rico to transitioning to life in the U.S.—has also fueled her drive to support professional development opportunities for others. Through her leadership and coaching, Itsalia empowers young people in Cricket’s call centers, mentoring them to view customer service as a rewarding career that impacts people’s lives.

President - AT&T Prepaid and Cricket Wireless

Cricket Nation showed up in a big way at this weekend’s Atlanta Heart Walk supporting the American Heart Association! It was great to have so many Cricket Wireless employees supporting this special cause in our hometown, but our efforts went way beyond the city limits.     The photos below are from the big event here in Atlanta, but also from Salena Barnes, MBA and Eric Brown, who were our furthest remote participants in Los Angeles and Tokyo!     I want to give a big shout out to Shameka Holloway, Georgann Natividad, Bryan Whitley, MBA, Keith Dempsey, Tara Zimmerman, Mark Mansur, and Kevin Dunson for leading our fundraising efforts, and for being proactive in supporting our local community!
