The world's leading platform for health, happiness, and performance.

About us

CrossFit is the world’s leading platform to improve health, happiness, and performance. In the 20 years since its founding, CrossFit® has grown from a garage gym in Santa Cruz, California, into the world’s leading health and fitness brand. CrossFit is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, and millions of people have already experienced CrossFit’s transformational benefits through workouts in more than 14,000 affiliated gyms across 158 countries. CrossFit’s education and training offerings are designed in accordance with the highest standard of efficacy and excellence in human physical development. CrossFit courses are open to individuals and trainers at all stages of development and include entry-level, intermediate, and age-specific courses, as well as additional opportunities for professional development and advancement. Currently, our global network includes more than 130,000 active trainers committed to supporting the health and fitness of local communities worldwide. CrossFit workouts include constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. These movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing, and more. They are the core movements of life. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness. The community that spontaneously arises when people do CrossFit workouts together is a key component of why CrossFit is so effective. Harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun that accompanies a shared workout yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means. Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general, and inclusive fitness. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too. Our specialty is not specializing.

Q: Why do we write scores on the board in CrossFit? A: We're celebrating YOUR effort! CrossFit helps build confidence and provides opportunities to practice overcoming challenges in a safe environment. You don't need to be the fastest, strongest, or complete the workout exactly as written. The focus is on giving your best effort each day. Be proud of your accomplishments. Next time the coach asks, say your score with pride. Find a gym near you at CrossFit.com. Denise Thomas, Certified CrossFit Coach (CF-L4) and CrossFit Training Flowmaster

Meet Momentous, the “Anti-Supplement Supplement Company.” “Supplements have such a negative connotation in society because there’s been so much on the market with little regulation, little quality control, low barriers to entry that have driven (an) immense amount of distrust, lack of transparency, and I think just overall confusion in the market,” Momentous Founder and CEO Jeff Byers explained. So last year, when the idea of a partnership between CrossFit and Momentous came under consideration, both companies approached the conversation with apprehension. After all, with the exception of Omega-3s, CrossFit had never touted supplements. Likewise, Momentous had focused its efforts on building partnerships with professional and collegiate sports teams and the Department of Defense. However, a shared ethos between the two brands drove the conversation forward; because Momentous, like CrossFit, is a mission-driven company, dedicated to data, tracking, and measuring results with openness and transparency, all in the service of fitness and health.

“Being fit is really important. … Younger athletes are just so hungry and aggressive and fresh. … I take great pride in being able to keep up with them and giving them a challenge.” Judi Oyama was introduced to skateboarding by her older brother and was instantly hooked. By 16, she was one of the few female skateboarders to be sponsored and often competed against boys. At 43, she won her first slalom world championship. Oyama started CrossFit at 53 as a way to stay fit and challenge her younger competitors. At 64, Oyama is in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame and continues to compete internationally. “It feels really good to be a top-ranked athlete in my 60s.” Watch Oyama's feature via AARPhttps://lnkd.in/ez5Q5hSe #CrossFit
