The FTC's final rule now prohibits noncompete clauses for most employees to take effect as of September 4, 2024. This landmark change means that noncompete agreements will become unenforceable for all but "senior executives" in policy-making positions earning over $151,164 annually. 📝 Employers, here's what you need to do: 📍Stop including noncompete clauses in employment contracts and policies. 📍Notify current and former employees that existing noncompetes are void, using the most direct communication methods available. 📍Confirm which, if any, of your employees qualify as "senior executives" exempt from the rule. 🔍 Noncompliance could lead to significant penalties, with the FTC poised to enforce up to $51,744 per violation.
