CPHS Chemistry students in Mrs. Harnew's class are diving into real-world science, working with radioactive materials to identify penetrating power and test shielding materials. They graphed their results to explore the exponential nature of radioactive decay. This hands-on experiment is part of the Purdue Science Express program, which brings advanced scientific tools right to our classrooms. Through this partnership, our students get the chance to work with cutting-edge lab equipment—gear that many high school labs don’t have access to. We are proud to invest in STEM opportunities that spark curiosity and deepen understanding! Purdue University College of Science

It's not something that many school districts can say, but we are very proud to begin our school year with our teaching positions fully staffed. We continue to be a destination district because our teachers and support staff are phenomenal, and they are leaders in public education. A big thank you goes out to our CPHS cheerleaders, football team, color guard, marching band, and jazz band for helping with our welcome back event this morning. See you soon for the first day of school, Bulldogs!

We had a great time with our community members and parents on yesterday's tour bus! We walked more than 10,000 steps over seven hours of visiting five different CPCSC sites. We toured classrooms, talked about programs and curriculum, explained school safety, and even played on the playground. Having the chance to share all of our capital improvements with this group was a great experience. Thanks to everyone who joined us!

We have two community engagement programs coming up and sign ups are available now! Be sure to reserve your spot if you are interested in one of these opportunities as space is limited. Visit https://lnkd.in/gmYKSq8k for more information and to sign up. The CPCSC Ambassador Program is a seven-session behind-the-scenes look at our district. It is open to residents in the CPCSC boundaries who would like to learn more about our schools and what we do. Topics include finances, operations, curriculum and instruction, and student services. The group meets monthly from 8-10 a.m. Elementary parent participants can utilize our childcare program on these mornings for no charge. The Bulldog Tour Bus is a one-day, fun, fast-paced tour of our district. Designed as an overview for our community, a ride on The Bulldog Tour Bus will take you to five locations and is a chance to become more acquainted with CPCSC, our current projects, and what’s ahead. And yes, our day will be themed around The Magic School Bus. “Seatbelts, everyone!” This tour is a great choice for those who are interested in our district but can’t do the frequency/timing of the ambassador program.
