This Saturday, we open our newest exhibit, "Snoopy and the Red Baron," a captivating traveling exhibition from the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center. This gallery tells the full story of Snoopy’s transformation into the iconic World War I Flying Ace. Unlike most of our exhibits which are entirely for young children, this exhibit has content intended for an older audience. Visitors will enjoy high-quality reproduction artwork, memorabilia, and Schulz's own WW1 research. Families will still enjoy interactive activities such as comic strip drawing, Snoopy coloring pages, and paper airplane making. Kansas City is cementing its place as the ultimate BBQ destination with the launch of the world’s first Museum of BBQ at Crown Center! This one-of-a-kind, 4,223 sq ft interactive experience will dive into the elements (meat, fire, wood, smoke, rub, sauce) and the regions (Texas, Memphis, Carolinas, and KC) that make barbecue culture iconic. Jonathan Bender, an Emmy-winning writer and BBQ enthusiast, and chef Alex Pope are spearheading this ambitious project, creating a place where guests can immerse themselves in all that defines BBQ. "We want you to play and learn and come away with an appreciation for the joy and community that is part of barbecue culture,” said Bender. The museum will also feature a curated gift shop offering regional sauces, rubs, and BBQ-themed apparel. Crown Center visitors will be able to enjoy a sneak peek with a playful miniature exhibit planned to open ahead of the 2025 grand opening.
