Yesterday, I was honored to spend time with Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Jill Underly, Secretary of Workforce Development, Amy Pechacek, and Congresswoman Gwen Moore to discuss the opportunities for college completion and career development for WI youth. I was grateful for the chance to share more about the All-In Milwaukee program and success statistics. Thank you to Maureen Hoyler and the Council for Opportunity in Education for coordinating this roundtable and for believing in the All-In Milwaukee model and scholars. It was an honor to have All-In Milwaukee staff, scholars and graduates as a part of the CSforALL conference to highlight the vital role of tech career pathways to ensure Milwaukee students succeed in the workforce. Let's get to work Wisconsin and invest in scholars and programs with a proven track record to ensure a future diverse workforce!

What a powerful kickoff to the 8th annual CS for ALL Conference! 🌟 Dr. Nadiyah Johnson, CEO & Founder of Jet Constellations and Milky Way Tech Hub, delivered an inspiring keynote that energized everyone in attendance. Her message on the critical role of inclusion and innovation in tech, especially here in Wisconsin, resonated deeply. "You're going to see people come looking for you. Building this Milky Way required me to find my community...Creating long-lasting change means thinking big," she shared, urging us to set bold goals that require collaboration. "If your mission doesn’t require help, you’re not thinking big enough." She reminded us that as technologists and computer scientists, we are the architects of the future and have a responsibility to drive sustainable, positive change. With emerging technologies like AI, Nadiyah emphasized the importance of intentionality: "We’re steering the future—let’s make sure it represents the best of us, not the worst." Her challenge to us was simple but profound: Are you relentless in your efforts to drive positive change? With #WiTechMonth underway, this is the perfect time to champion access and equity in computer science and STEM. Our focus goes beyond classrooms; it’s about systems work. With only an hour to share, there’s still much to unpack!
