Kara Seesholtz (President & CEO) and Alyssa Meyers-Sanonu (Director of Philanthropy) were pleased to participate in Leadership Susquehanna Valley's "philanthropy day" last week. The class discussed personal philanthropy, grantmaking, and community needs, while a panel of local donors, board members, and partners shared how community giving creates meaningful impact across the region. We are thankful for these opportunities to connect with local community and business leaders! 💛 | csgiving.org

We were excited to kick-off the Foundation's 24/25 Youth in Philanthropy program this week with sessions at Bloomsburg University and Bucknell University. Over 250 high school students from a record 18 local school districts are participating in the program, which teaches students about the importance of community giving through educational sessions and hands-on activities. This year, we welcomed Diane from 21/64 to lead discussions on family giving, community service, and building up a generation of philanthropists. Over the next several months, students will work together to craft needs assessments, culminating in a $90,000 grant round to support youth programs in their schools and communities. We value the vast knowledge shared across the community foundation field through collaboration and learning opportunities. Foundation staff enjoyed two days connecting with peers at the annual Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association (PACFA) conference in State College earlier this week. Sessions covered a variety of topics including best practices, state-wide trends, and future initiatives. Our own Kara Seesholtz joined a panel to share insights on collective philanthropy programs at our Foundation. Professional development opportunities are valuable to further our Foundation work, and so is self-care! Staff wrapped up the week with an afternoon retreat at the Bloomsburg Fair to support our local businesses. 💛 #communityfoundations #collaboration #teambuilding #communityconnections
