We are thrilled to announce Social Emotional Learning Alliance for Connecticut (SEL4CT)'s new curated content to directly support parents, caregivers, and individuals facing mental health challenges. Caregivers across the nation are in dire need of resources and services. In 2023, a staggering 33% of parents reported high levels of stress compared to 20% of other adults. This month, U.S. Surgeon General Vice Admiral Vivek H. Murthy released a crucial report, Parents Under Pressure: The U.S. Surgeon General Advisory on the Mental Health and Well-Being of Parents, highlighting today's problematic reality caregivers face. You can also read his editorial, Parents Are at Their Wits’ End. We Can Do Better., for deeper insights into these challenges. At SEL4CT, we are committed to supporting caregivers and all those impacted by mental health struggles. Together, we’re building a community of support, healing, and resilience. Stay tuned for resources that will make a difference! Visit sel4ct.org for more information.

October Staff Spotlight: Meet Marla Berrios! My name is Marla Berrios and I am the Director of Operations and Finance for the Connecticut Network for Children and Youth. I’ve been with the Network for 16 years and I’ve grown since my early beginnings. My proudest accomplishment at the Network was moving into my current position, handling all the finances and day to day operations of the organization. I am putting my accounting, management and organizational skills to full use as well as acquiring others and still growing. My message to the world: Never stop learning, face your challenges and sit with the uncomfortable.
