CU Books Team Member Spotlight: Cathryn Vacca – Director of Sales & Customer Success Hobbies or Passions: My Christian faith, parenting, and crochet! Favorite TV show or movie: The Office Favorite Quote: I’m not superstitious, but I’m a little stitious. Time in the industry: 4 years What you love about working at CU Books: “There’s so much communication and transparency, despite working in a 100% remote environment. We host very regular team meetings where we hold one another accountable, share and solve challenges, and celebrate wins.” A piece of advice to any CU about backoffice/bookkeeping: “If you’re handling your own bookkeeping, document processes and update them regularly. When processes aren’t thorough, things can get missed all too easily. Especially when an employee is unexpectedly out of office. It’s very important that more than one person can complete the necessary tasks. Or, employ CU Books and we can take care of the documentation and built-in backup!”

A little late posting this, but had a great time at the Cornerstone League ELEVATE conference in Houston last week! Some highlights: - Getting to know the team from CUES and all about the work they're doing to equip Credit Unions with organizational tools and training... and a lot more - Learning about the great training and documentation platform from ScreenConnect Software, LLC - Finally meeting Lisa Miller at CU Coach in person! - Having lunch with friends at the original Irma's - Getting to show off my (and Cathryn Vacca's) booth-setting-up skills (again) with Tyler & Maria with KellMoore & Associates, LLC. - not to mention all the great conversations we had - Completely nerding out and asking Becky Reed to sign my copy of her book 'Credit Unions and DeFi: A Financial Renaissance' - then getting to meet and visit with John Wingate at BankSocial And, last but not least: getting to recognize Mark Anderson, board member at WellSpring Credit Union as the honorary CU Books Bean Counter! Congrats Mark!

One of the Core Values central to the culture here at CU Books is 'Lagniappe', a French Creole word that means 'a little something extra'. For us, that means: - Greeting everyone with a smile (they're contagious!) - Ending each call by asking 'What else can I do for you today?' - Looking for small, unexpected ways to improve the lives of our customers and their members Not only do we think 'lagniappe' is the right way to go about business (and life), it pairs well with the Credit Union ethos - 'People Helping People'. What are some ways you or your organization show 'lagniappe' during the day? #creditunions #cubooks #peoplehelpingpeople #noculeftbehind
