Tracie McGetrick and Laura Worley had a great trip to Buffalo for NYSFAA's Annual Conference!
Just boarded the plane to leave Buffalo after spending the better part of the week with some of the most dedicated Financial Aid executives/representatives anywhere! NYSFAAA’s Annual Conference 2024 hosted by Region I in Buffalo was one of the best FAA Conferences I’ve been to this year! I may be a bit biased as it was chaired by our (Student Choice) very own Laura Worley. Shout out to her for a phenomenal job! Of course, it takes a team, and she would remind me of that - so Congrats to everyone on the committee for a job well done! The general session presenters, both Michael Fancher and Harlan Cohen were excellent and very relevant for the times we are in as an industry and as a country. Each of them lending practical and optimistic advice for navigating both our professional and personal lives through turbulent times. I recommend checking them out! The comraderie and “family” like culture led by NYSFAA President, Patty Donahue, was offered by all and felt throughout the conference. And, it was wonderful to see “friendly” competitors I haven’t seen in many years (other than on social media) and catch up on each other’s lives over the past 10+ years… children have become adults and grand babies have been added to families!! An annual conference is a culmination of professional development for the future and a celebration of the past year. Our financial aid friends have more to celebrate this year than in many years past for surviving the FAFSA challenges and hardships felt across the families they strive to help and their offices/staff who struggled to stay above water and positive throughout. Cheers to surviving 2024 and here’s to a better 2025! #isir-vived, #nysfaaa
