Cumberland Landscape Group is a regional, full-service landscaping company.
About us
Cumberland Landscape Group is a regional commercial landscape company with its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and with hopes of further expanding across the Southeast in the coming years. The company's roots date back to performing as the in-house landscape group for Equity Residential, but we have been fortunate to grow outside of Equity over the years to now include all asset classes. We are a group of dedicated professionals with decades of landscape experience, and our competitive advantage is our deep desire to listen to the needs of our clients and to deliver creative solutions to achieve their goals. Our Culture is based around treating people the way we ourselves want to be treated. We do this by doing what is "right" versus what might always be the most profitable, and when we make mistakes, which are inevitable, we apologize and work to make sure things are corrected. No one is flawless, so we make sure to own that fact and make sure things are correct in the end. We want to be the best landscaping company in the market. We are one of the largest, locally owned landscaping companies, and we pride ourselves on our three core values of the Cumberland Culture: 1. Transparency: We engage in open, honest and appropriate sharing of information and feedback in all aspects of our business. 2. Respect: We live the golden rule through our commitment to always treat people the way we would want to be treated. 3. Teamwork: We are collectively committed to the success of the company and one another, and are fully accountable for ‘my part of the whole’.

Continue watering trees and shrubs, especially evergreens, until the ground freezes. Hydrated plants are better able to survive the winter. Irrigation systems deliver water directly to the roots of plants, ensuring that every drop is used effectively. #falllandscaping #landscapingmaintenance #propertymanagement #irrigationsystems #cumberlandlandscapegroup

The results from our poll "What makes a Workplace more Desirable?" are in. 🙌 The winner is "Improved Pathways and Walkways." Having well-planned walkways improves both the functionality and attractiveness of an office building, making it a crucial aspect of property design and maintenance. Strategically placed pathways direct pedestrian traffic and keep it separate from vehicle traffic, preventing accidents and improving the flow of people in and around the building. #officebuildings #propertymanagement #workplaceimprovements #landscapingmaintenance #pathways #walkways #commerciallandcaping #cumberlandlandscapegroup

With cooler weather here, now is the time to install your pine straw and mulch to insulate your plants if you haven't done so. Leaf management is essential for walkways, entrances, and parking lots. For your winter planters and flower beds, Dusty Miller and pansies are a perfect addition. Also, Camellia japonica bushes bloom from late December through March. #falllandscaping #preparingforwinter #landscapingmaintenance #propertymanagement #commerciallandscaping #cumberlandlandscapegroup

"Walk to a Park Day" is an annual event designed to encourage people to explore their local parks and enjoy the health and environmental benefits of walking. Parks and green spaces serve as community hubs, offering a place for people to gather, connect, and engage in activities. This enhances social cohesion and builds stronger bonds among neighbors. #walktoaparkday

Cooler temperatures are ahead this week. 🍂 Planting in October allows roots to establish while the weather is cooler, which helps plants be better prepared for the heat of the following summer. Now is a great time to plant azaleas, camellias, and cool-season annuals like pansies and violas. #octoberplanting #landscaping #propertymanagement #fallweather #cumberlandlandscapegroup

Our thoughts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Helene. 🙏 Georgia has more than 4,600 dams. Dam failures can occur with little warning. When a dam fails, the damage can be catastrophic. With the potential for another storm, here is an outline of ways to prevent and prepare for future flooding. Biodiversity in landscaping involves creating and maintaining outdoor spaces that support various plant and animal species. It aims to mimic natural ecosystems by incorporating native plants, diverse habitats, and sustainable practices. #biodiversity #greeninfrastructure #landscapearchitects #landscaping
ASLA has released the results of its first national survey on landscape architects’ planning and design work focused on biodiversity. Nearly 300 landscape architects, designers, and landscape architecture educators in the U.S. responded to the survey in July 2024. According to the survey, many landscape architects are leveraging projects to increase biodiversity and restore ecosystems. The five most common types of projects they plan and design to achieve biodiversity goals are: Green infrastructure – 49% Neighborhood parks – 41% Corridors, buffers, and greenways – 36% Conservation or ecological restoration – 36% Residential gardens and landscapes – 32% Read more in ASLA's THE DIRT: https://bit.ly/3BfgsaZ Image Credit: ASLA 2024 Professional General Design Honor Award. Please be safe during the storm. 🙏 With high winds, one of the biggest concerns is fallen trees. They can cause significant damage to power lines, vehicles, and property. Some preventative actions for the future would be the following: ➡ Regular tree inspection around your property. Look for signs of disease, decay, and weak roots. ➡ Properly trimming or pruning overgrown branches helps to reduce risk of them breaking off during storms. ➡ For large problematic trees, hire a certified arborist ➡ Planting strategic trees and shrubs around your property can reduce wind damage. #landscaping #stormdamage #treecare #propertysafety #propertymanagement

The best soil for fall flowers should be nutrient-rich, well-draining, and slightly on the acidic side for most fall-blooming plants. You can improve drainage by adding sand or perlite if your soil is too compact to avoid root rot in planters. Applying a layer of mulch helps regulate soil temperature and retain moisture as temperatures fluctuate during the fall. #seasonalflowers #flowercare #landscapingmaintenance #landscapingtips #cumberlandlandscapegroup
