On Sept.23, we held our first in-person industry workshop of the year: "Help! What kind of developer do I want to be?" It occurred at the beautiful CUNY @ Amazon in Manhattan, New York. We want to thank The City University of New York and Amazon for the space, especially our presenter, the amazing Mandy Meindersma, for conducting the workshop. #CTP10 #CUNYTechPrep10

Hey hey! It's been a while since I've updated everyone on what's happening with me, so this one will be a little bit of a dump of my past ~2 months... To start: I had the honor and privilege to plan, mentor and... JUDGE CUNY Tech Prep 's "CTP Hacks 2024". While mentoring, I met a lot of great personalities who will do amazing things come soon. Many of the incoming fellows are very passionate about their tracks and I couldn't be more happy and proud to see the next cohort taking their first steps in an amazing program. Judging this Cohort's hackathon was an amazing experience, being beside the fellows in each step of their project is truly remarkable and I cannot express my gratitude to be involved with such an amazing program again. I would personally like to thank Hessvacio Hassan and the Chancellor of CUNY, Felix Matos Rodriguez. Speaking with the two of these gentlemen was a pleasurable experience and a reminder of the good that this field carries. Lastly, I would like to thank Selene (Silin) Shen and Lucy Samuels. Selene had coordinated the in-person event which made a huge impact on the fellow's attention and work. I have always leaned more towards in-person collaborations as they tend to open the door to better work (not to dog on virtual, just an observation from my experiences). The personally witnessed success of the in-person event really drove me to give 110% towards this hackathon, so I really want to express my gratitude for the efforts of Selene. Lucy's leadership and plan-action allowed for a seamless experience for the entirety of the planning council and for that, I cannot thank her enough. To keep the next blurb brief, I had the pleasure of attending Bernd Kawohl 's seminar on "buttons and balls that cannot run away". Initially, I had heard of this seminar from my Linear Algebra professor and didn't think I would be able to attend, but I am glad I did! The historical take on the topics of Reuleaux Triangles/tetrahedrons , the impact of geometric follies in the Challenger Disaster and the topic of Meissner's Body was very descriptive and interesting! All of which was very digestible and overall was an amazing discussion! Thank you again for speaking! Finally, I would like to discuss the most recent seminar I attended: Google's Resume Workshop & Internship Opportunities lead by Vincent Chang . This discussion was invaluable in terms of the knowledge and insights shared by Mr.Chang. I was able to discuss my background and resume with Mr.Chang afterwards and was very pleased to briefly discuss my resume, but also a little about Mr.Chang as well! Thank you so much again for giving CSI students the insights needed for entering this field! Truly a memorable experience ! Overall, I always preach persistence. I may appear like Mr.Wonderful , but I am a human too and am equally as prone to failure as anyone else. I obtain these victories and feats because , despite my hurdles, I continue to persist. Keep persisting and spread peace!
