𝗞𝗘𝗢 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮! KEO's design experts recently embarked on a volunteer trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia! Our team had the privilege of visiting the incredible CURE International hospital, a facility dedicated to providing life-changing medical care to children with musculoskeletal conditions. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘? CURE International is doing phenomenal work, but their facilities need to adapt to serve an ever-growing number of patients. This is where KEO comes in. Our team spent their time learning about the hospital's current operations, future goals, and the unique challenges they face in delivering high-quality pediatric care. 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 By understanding CURE's needs firsthand, our design experts will be able to develop a comprehensive masterplan to optimize their facilities. ️ This plan will focus on improving patient flow, creating a more efficient use of space, and ultimately, ensuring that even more children receive the critical medical attention they deserve. 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 This trip was more than just architecture. It was an opportunity for our team to connect with the dedicated staff at CURE and witness firsthand the impact their work has on countless young lives. We are inspired by their commitment and look forward to working with them to create a future where even more children can access the care they need. #GoKEO #KEOGivesBack #ArchitectsforGood #CUREInternational #Ethiopia #HealthcareDesign

CURE believes every child on Earth deserves the best medical care possible. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that the Carolyn Jane Foundation and Medtronic have partnered to provide our hospital in Kenya with an O-arm imaging system—one of the only such devices in the country of almost 54 million people. O-arms provide 3-D imaging in real time to operating surgeons, allowing them to perform surgeries that require extreme precision—like spinal surgery—with greater accuracy. This increased precision reduces the risk of neurologic injury and ensures accurate placement of screws, rods, cables, and instruments. Despite its large size, the O-arm is on wheels and can be moved between ORs depending on need, meaning one O-arm can elevate the quality of surgery for an entire hospital. On behalf of CURE Kenya’s current and future patients, thank you to the Carolyn Jane Foundation and Medtronic! (And a special thank you to Dr. Craig Humphreys, MD for facilitating this donation.)

We’re grateful for our partnerships that help us share the love of Jesus in practical, tangible ways with the children we serve.    Since 2020, Praise Works and CURE have partnered to share more than 88,000 copies of The Jesus Story with children and families across our eight children’s hospitals. Written in 18 local languages, this illustrated book presents the life and ministry of Jesus in a way children can understand.   We’re thrilled to announce that Praise Works, with support from generous partners, is providing another 156,000 copies over the next five years to help us bring the life-changing message of the gospel to even more children! Read more about it below. https://lnkd.in/efZVeEte

Service has come full circle! CURE is blessed to partner with Mission Aviation Fellowship Uganda to provide transportation for patients who live in South Sudan but need treatment at our hospital in Uganda. MAF flies our patients to and from our hospitals, allowing us to expand our impact across East Africa. Recently, CURE was re-introduced to Eunice, a Senior Bookings Officer at MAF. In 2006, Eunice underwent a lifesaving operation at CURE Uganda to remove a brain tumor. Today she is happy, healthy, and helping CURE treat other kids! As 2 Corinthians 1:4 reminds us: "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." Eunice’s story is a perfect example of how God’s healing power equips us to help others. We’re proud of you, Eunice!

Timoki was number 10,000.   When Tebow CURE Hospital of the Philippines opened in 2014, our partners, including the Tim Tebow Foundation and Sacred Harvest Foundation, and supporters around the world prayed that the hospital would serve as a turning point in young lives physically and spiritually.   Thanks to their prayers and generosity – and the grace of God – Tebow CURE Children's Hospital recently celebrated its 10,000th surgical procedure: Timoki, a young boy who was suffering from bowed legs, is recovering beautifully from an osteotomy to correct his right bowed leg.   Timoki's story is one that has been repeated 10,000 times now at our hospital in the Philippines. Please join the CURE hospital network in celebrating this monumental milestone!

Like every hospital, CURE Zambia needs power to keep its lights on and equipment running. Unfortunately, Zambia’s power grid is plagued by frequent unannounced interruptions and surges, which can damage expensive equipment. The hospital’s diesel backup generators are costly to run and do not generate enough electricity to fully power our world-class facility. Zambia does, however, have something to work with: lots of sunshine. Thanks to a USAID #ASHA grant, CURE Zambia recently invested in a state-of-the-art #microgrid that uses #solarpanels to generate energy and commercial-grade batteries to store it for use at night. This investment is already delivering dependable—and free—electricity to CURE Zambia, which allows more kids than ever to receive high-quality medical care and have the opportunity to hear the Gospel. We hope you enjoy this timelapse video and appreciate how much of an impact this investment is having on children across southern Africa.
