We’re excited to partner with literacy expert Dr. Anita Archer to launch a NEW edition of #PhonicsForReading, an intervention program designed to support striving readers. 📚 With more than 50% of students in Grades 3–8 reading below grade level, the need for age-appropriate reading support is more urgent than ever. Where did you go, September? 👀 As the first full month of school in #NewYork comes to a close, I am so inspired by the ways our #iReadyPartners across the state are engaging stakeholders at every level & aligning on priorities for the coming year. As the proverb goes, “it takes a village”, and I am proud to have a small part in the communities cultivated by impactful educators and learners. Help me shine a spotlight on these dynamic districts & the work they are doing to start the year strong: 🪄Yonkers Public Schools community partners were invited by Anibal Soler, Jr. to celebrate successes, learn more about district initiatives + connect to collaborate in creating #YonkersMagic ✔️ In Poughkeepsie City School District, Eric Jay Rosser, Ph.D. outlined expectations + engaged families in understanding how they can support their scholars’ use of i-Ready via his Superintendent’s brief 💡Districts like KINGSTON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT secured time for teachers to unpack resources + skill build during professional learning sessions (special thank you to our phenomenal Curriculum Associates PL specialists) 🧠: Yonkers Public Schools building leaders gathered in a productive & collaborative #datainformed action planning session while leveraging promising practices from the prior year (huge kudos to Dr. Daisy Rodriguez (Roncagliolo), Michael McDonald, Elaine Centeno & all of the YPS Principal teams for this work) along with Elizabeth Bump & Alise DeRosa 🎉: Pennington School in Mt. Vernon City School District hosted an i-Ready kickoff celebration to launch their school-wide challenge this year, exciting both students & teachers alike. Principal Dr. Melissa M. White & AP Kenyetta Hopkins really sparked something special with this energetic assembly! (So glad you were able to join the fun, Kijhé Combs, MSS !) … and we’re just getting started. Stay tuned to see what the next month will bring!

In this week's blog, Naneka J. Brathwaite breaks down how manipulatives like algebra tiles and fraction strips can transform middle school math. While some students may see manipulatives as "babyish," these tools make math visual, hands-on, and engaging! 🧮 Read the blog for more tips: https://bit.ly/3TGxSns #MiddleSchool #EdChat #EdTech #Math #EducationBlog

Earlier this month, our North Billerica office was filled with excitement (and a massive line for the taco truck!) as employees from across the country gathered for our RangeDays. Tyrone Holmes, Chief Inclusion Officer, was on site to speak with the incoming new hire cohort and had a chance to connect with local media. In an era of remote work and global teams, these RangeDays are an important opportunity for us to spend time together, fostering the collaboration and innovation that drive our mission forward. Holmes shares his perspective on CA's unique team culture, the recent acquisition of our SoapBox Labs team, and how i-Ready’s assessment tools offer actionable insights to our educator partners to provide “right on time” instruction to students. #InsideCA #FacesOfCA

This week marked one of my favorite times of the year — our in-person team meeting. While working remotely has its perks, it can sometimes feel isolating, so it’s refreshing to come together in person, celebrate our accomplishments, and align on future goals. Beyond the work, these gatherings provide an opportunity to connect on a more personal level, learning fun details about colleagues like who’s into 90s hip hop🎵 or who takes tap dancing lessons💃🏾 When I left the classroom, I heard all sorts of warnings about the corporate world — that it’s cutthroat, impersonal, and driven solely by profits. I’m grateful that my experience has been quite the opposite. At the end of the day, everyone here genuinely cares about doing what’s best for the teachers and students we serve.🫶🏾 Although our time was cut short by Hurricane Helene, I’m thankful for the moments I got to share with my teammates Christine Busenbark and Heidi Wallace and our partner teams. Hopefully, the storm clears soon so our Curriculum Associates Orlando group can go ahead with tomorrow's meet-up!☀️
