There is *ALSO* nothing “complex” about placing children in the custody of dangerous, abusive parents. —The answer is the same: “We should all be able to agree it’s wrong and we should do everything we can to STOP IT.”
Custody Peace
Non-profit Organizations
An intersectional approach to replacing cycles of violence with natural cycles of health, healing & regeneration.
About us
We created Custody Peace years ago to raise awareness around coercive control and how this impacts the conditions in our homes and throughout our world, including in our schools, workplaces, legal system, various institutions and our planet as a whole. On this journey, we studied the patterns of micro (family violence) and macro level (all forms of institutional violence & betrayal) and like so many before us, found that the tactics and patterns of abusers & oppressors around the globe on both levels are the same. Their degenerative tactics are rooted in the need for domination and a goal to separate their victims from truth, nature, health, care, support, family, land, culture, resources and from oneself. In both cases, systems are weaponized, DARVO tactics are almost always present (to control the narrative) and in far too many cases, the deliberate harm of children is the clear intention. It is historically all by design. Our goal is to continue to bear witness to the experiences of survivors throughout the globe (now, with a broader, intersectional view) and do our small part in supporting a broader awakening towards true liberation for all (every child, every human, every living thing). Our vision is an optimistic one; that one day soon, the destructive and degenerative cycles of violence are replaced with natural cycles of health, healing and regeneration in our homes, communities and planet, for the benefit of every living, interdependent thing (that’s all of us). We aren’t perfect, we don’t strive to be, however we do strive to continue to unlearn, listen, evolve, see and speak up for the truth and for the human rights of all survivors of our degenerative systems (that’s all of us). We also strive to do this with an intersectional, child-centered view, inspired by solutions found in natural living systems (that live within and around us) and the wisdom of those who came before us. Thank you to our evolving community for your solidarity and for

"Domestic abuse survivors warn that – inside the secretive family courts – they are being ‘retraumatised’ by the legal system, and say judges are the worst offenders." Athena Stavrou reports via Independent, August 16, 2024 Full Article: https://lnkd.in/eabpUhUN

"One glaring lesson from recent events is the pervasive racism among some UK feminists, as even the bare minimum expectation —to acknowledge the struggles of Palestinian women enduring systemic marginalisation — has not been met. For the feminist movement to rise above this mess, it must be unequivocally clear that there is no room for racism. Overcoming this tribal feminism that serves only selective interests demands recognising and addressing prejudices as they emerge, holding everyone accountable." Maryam Aldossari is a senior lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research focuses on gender inequality in the Middle East. Full Article: https://lnkd.in/e-XnwrJG

Try this: Replace the words "Israeli Government" with "DV Perpetrator" and replace "UN Security Council" with "Our Legal System" and see what happens. *See if you can you see the find the parallels between this declaration and the ones DV victim-survivors make to judges in our legal systems in the attempt to protect their children, themselves and all survivors of abuse. This video features Ambassador Dr. Riyad Mansour addressing the UN Security Council Members (August 13, 2024).

What if every mother, expert, DV advocate, lawyer, feminist, human rights activist, child safety advocate, legislator, author & activist who has quoted Reem Alsalem over the years in an effort to protect their own children, clients, community members, etc., OR has quoted her work in a research study, book or workshop, would listen to her now and use their voice to protect Palestinian children (and ultimately, themselves, ALL children, ALL women, ALL mothers, ALL parents, and ALL human rights and ALL International Law). https://lnkd.in/eWn_P6uM

A MUST READ (if you haven't read it already): Investigative journalist Jess Hill puts perpetrators – and the systems that enable them – in the spotlight. 'See What You Made Me Do' is a deep dive into the abuse so many women and children experience – abuse that is often reinforced by the justice system they trust to protect them. Critically, it shows that we can drastically reduce domestic violence – not in generations to come, but today.

“It got so I could finish a woman’s story halfway through it. There was this absolutely eerie feeling that these guys were sitting together and deciding what to say and do.” via Jess Hill, The Guardian https://lnkd.in/gH-zD54
