We're thrilled that the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released its “Secure by Design Pledge,” a voluntary commitment by software manufacturers to work towards implementing several cybersecurity best practices. The Cybersecurity Coalition worked with CISA after initial release of the pledge and we're happy the agency took feedback from industry. Last month, the Cybersecurity Coalition co-led a joint letter from 23 industry organizations calling on the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to extend the comment period for the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA) by 30 days. Today, CISA granted our request by extending the deadline by one month. Thank you to all of the organizations who signed onto our initial request letter. Today, the Cybersecurity Coalition joined the Chamber of Commerce and 24 other organizations to request a 30-day comment period extension from CISA on the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA). Considering that the rules will impact every critical infrastructure sector, and potentially serve as a model for others, extending the comment period is sensible.
