Changing Lives Through Music
About us
DANIEL'S MUSIC FOUNDATION (DMF) is a non-profit organization, founded in 2006, to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music. Since then, we have greatly expanded our programs to serve more individuals and organizations, both within and beyond our community. Music has been used as a healing force for centuries. Its beauty, power and personal relevance has made it a wonderful instrument for the wellness and rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities. We have learned first-hand from experience, the truth in this statement. We believe in inclusion, diversity and the indelible ability of all individuals to creatively express themselves. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the various ways we are changing perception, diminishing isolation and providing overall access to music for individuals with disabilities.

As Disability Awareness month comes to a close, we are happy to announce that we just completed our 250th Disability Awareness presentation. We've been presenting to corporations, schools, and organizations both in-person and online, since we started the program in 2016. Some were as intimate as 10 people and others to audiences over 1,000 - all of which educated and advocated for further inclusion of our community in an interactive and approachable way. According to several research studies, companies that prioritize disability inclusion found an increase in overall employee retention, engaged new customers and market opportunities, and experienced an overall improvement in workforce culture. We have dedicated our lives to changing perception and are passionately committed to helping others to do the same. If you are interested in learning more about what we do, please contact me here or email me at ken@danielsmusic.org - we would love to connect. #DisabilityAwareness #DisabilityRights #CorporateResponsibility #InclusionMatters #Accessibility

Hard to believe that it was 18 years ago yesterday that we had our first music program at Daniel's Music. A lot has happened since then and it's great to see how music is finally being studied by the medical profession for neurological connections within our brain as well as being an important part of our health and wellness. Check out this 9 minute PBS video featuring world renown soprano, Renee Fleming and Dr. Francis Collins - https://lnkd.in/d9rK-BdF to see the important work that is happening. #health #music #innovation #creativity #future #science #pbs

Very pleased and excited to announce that John Gardner, President and Chief Executive Office at Luckie & Co., a creative and data-driven agency has joined our Board of Directors at Daniel's Music Foundation. I (Ken) first met John over 10 years ago when I was doing some consulting work with Luckie. A very talented leader and all around great person, I am thrilled to be working closely with him again. When I asked him what he was most excited about, his reply was, "I can't wait to be part of building a platform and organization to change hearts and minds, one song at a time." Welcome aboard John!!! #music #disabilityinclusion #disabilityawareness#musicnews
