About us
Celebrating 50 Years of the Military Learner~ Since July 31, 1974, the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), a component of the Defense Human Resource Activity (DHRA/DoD), helps service members pursue their educational goals, earn degrees and certifications, and prepare for transition to the civilian workforce. DANTES manages, funds and markets voluntary education programs and services designed to enrich the academic and career development of service members across the Department of Defense and Coast Guard; some programs include their family members. By fostering strategic partnerships, DANTES provides program and contract management activities that enable nearly 300,000 service members to prepare for military advancement, officer accession programs, postsecondary degree completion and civilian career transition annually.
