DIT is a community comprising excellent black tech founders, investors, & ecosystem builders that all operate in the South African tech ecosystem. Our members span the entire country from a geographic perspective. However, we are based online on Slack. Our shared experiences navigating a predominantly white tech ecosystem unify us. Yet, we are also connected & motivated by our shared desire & commitment to ensuring the betterment of South Africa & the broader continent of Africa through the use of scalable technologies.
Darkies in Tech, a registered non-profit organization, has unveiled a new website designed to serve as a centralized platform for professionals of color (POC) in South Africa's technology sector. This initiative aims to address the persistent lack of diversity and inclusion in the country's tech ecosystem.
The platform offers a range of resources and opportunities, including job listings, mentorship programs, and educational content. It seeks to connect POC tech professionals with potential employers, mentors, and peers, fostering a more inclusive and diverse tech community in South Africa.
Ntsako Mgiba, founder of Darkies in Tech, emphasized the platform's role in bridging the gap between talented POC professionals and opportunities in the tech industry. The organization's efforts align with broader initiatives to increase representation and create more equitable access to the growing South African tech sector.

Hello, LinkedIn community! 👋
I’ve been quiet over the last few months, but that’s because we’ve been busy making significant strides at Fixxr. I’m excited to share some of our latest developments, particularly in our B2B services and the launch of our new physical workshop, Fixxr 👨🏾🔧 The Workshop.
🚗 B2B Services: Elevating Business Maintenance Solutions
At Fixxr, we are committed to providing businesses with reliable, efficient, and comprehensive vehicle maintenance solutions. We recently launched a new B2B proposition that allows us to integrate top-notch maintenance solutions with other essential services, delivering unparalleled value to our clients.
Here’s what our B2B services offer:
- Mobile Mechanics: Our highly trained professionals come to your location, reducing downtime and ensuring productivity.
- Subscription Plans: Tailored to your mileage needs, offering systematic maintenance through monthly or annual plans.
- Maintenance Recommendation Engine: Proactive maintenance suggestions based on vehicle data to prevent major issues and extend fleet lifespan.
- Technology-Enabled Management: Our platform allows businesses to manage maintenance schedules, pricing, appointments, payments, and service history all in one place.
- Specialised Services: We handle complex repairs, such as engine, suspension, steering, and clutch and transmission services, at our equipped service hubs.
🛠️ Introducing Fixxr The Workshop: Advanced Repairs and Subscriptions
We are also thrilled to announce the opening of Fixxr The Workshop, our first physical location. This milestone enables us to handle more complex repairs, such as gearbox and engine overhauls. Our skilled technicians at The Workshop are equipped with specialised tools to ensure your vehicle receives the highest level of care.
The Workshop allows us to perform intricate repairs and helps us achieve RMI (Retail Motor Industry) accreditation, further enhancing our credibility and trust with customers.
🔧 Subscription Services: Simplifying Vehicle Maintenance
To further enhance customer experience, we have introduced subscription plans that provide a convenient and cost-effective way to manage vehicle maintenance. These plans include regular tune-ups, oil changes, battery replacements, and more, all paid for on a monthly basis. This model ensures a steady revenue stream for Fixxr while offering customers peace of mind, knowing their maintenance needs are covered.
I’m incredibly proud of our progress and excited about the future. If you or your company are interested in partnering with us or learning more about what we can offer, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support!

Business and Finance Expert. Actively seeking board positions
We had an amazing radio interview with the owner of @vuleka_platform, who shared his inspiring business journey with us. @talkradio702 @capetalkza 💚 💼
South African Spaza shop owners have struggled to compete with foreign-owned shops due to bulk buying advantages.
Vuleka solves this by negotiating and buying directly from manufacturers, passing on discounts to local owners.
Their app helps build credit profiles and improves cash flow through reliable supply chains and inventory financing. Plus, Vuleka won a Visa competition last year and is developing a new payment platform with them.
Hats off to Vuleka Platform for their incredible impact!
