DataDome reposted this
Being recognized in a Forrester Wave is no easy feat, and only one vendor can be named the Leader. Today’s guest on #CyberBytes: The Podcast has taken DataDome from being a fairly unknown name, to Leader in the Bot Management category. It was a pleasure to host Aurelie Guerrieri, their CMO, on the show at #BlackHat 2024. The risk of #DDoS attacks that businesses face is HUGE. DataDome stopped 350 billion attempts last year and are seeing these attacks become significantly more sophisticated and cheaper to execute. In this episode we cover: 🔵 Interacting with Analysts: the mistakes that vendors often make and how they should be utilized 🔵 How AI works both ways and in aiding the adversaries as much as the defenders 🔵 The importance of the bot management space during US election year In an important year for the bot management space, we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for DataDome! YouTube and Spotify links below. Enjoy the show! 📺 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e4-5i8k4 🎙 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gjrdGkay

Earlier this year, DataDome blocked a massive DDoS attack on a popular e-learning platform. How did we do it? The attack was blocked using a variety of suspicious signals: 🔵 Lack of JS execution: The attacker did not send any of the expected JS payloads. 🔵 Lack of DataDome session cookie: There was no DataDome cookie support, which we would expect real users to have. 🔵 Proxy detection: Many of the IPs involved in the attack came from known proxy IPs. 🔵 Abnormal IP address behavior: There were far too many requests per IP address. 🔵 Outlier detection: Our anti-DDoS mechanism detected a shift in the distribution of several metrics at the website level (number of distinct IPs without cookies, for example) and generated dynamic blocking patterns.
