The Art of Structural Engineering
About us
Datum Engineers, founded in 1937, is a Texas-based firm devoted exclusively to the practice of structural engineering. Datum serves a client base of corporate, institutional, public and private development owners and architectural firms primarily in Texas but across the United States as well. Completed projects range up to 60-stories in height and more than two million square feet in size. More than fifty of our projects have had a construction budget of $50 Million or more. We maintain structural design offices in Austin, Chicago, Dallas, and San Antonio and have a highly experienced and motivated engineering staff, most of whom have worked together at Datum for many years. Several of our principals and project managers have been with Datum for 20 years or more. The majority of our engineers have master's degrees from highly rated universities, and all have gained broad experience while at Datum. We take great pride in our reputation as innovative designers and creative problem solvers who collaborate with architects to help them create finely detailed buildings.

Yesterday marked some big milestones at The University of Texas at Dallas, as project leaders and donors cut the ribbon to open phase one of The Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum, and broke ground on phase two, the Performance Hall and Music Building. The Athenaeum houses the city’s second location of the Crow Museum of Asian Art, a reading room, lotus shop, museum partnerships and more. Phase two will feature a 680-seat performance hall, recoding studio, rehearsal space, classrooms and more. Datum Rios, LLC is proud to be part of this 12-acre cultural district reshaping the Dallas campus and further connecting it to the city center. A big congratulations to Perkins&Will and Populous on yesterday's contract approval with the City of Dallas on the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas master plan! Datum Rios, LLC, partnering with Magnusson Klemencic Associates, is proud to be part of the team to reimagine this important landmark in the heart of the city. “The City Council has made a transformational investment to realize the vision for a reimagined Convention Center district,” said Interim City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert. “The local and global expertise of our project partners will be instrumental in creating a facility that not only meets current and future convention demands but connects the surrounding residential community and serves downtown workers, benefitting Dallas economic growth and social vibrancy for generations.” #DallasConventionCenter #AEC #Engineering #StructuralEngineering https://lnkd.in/gyAhmRk9

Major Milestone Alert! We’re thrilled to announce that our Lake Highlands Junior High project, in collaboration with Richardson ISD and Perkins&Will, has received its Temporary Certification of Occupancy! But the journey doesn’t end here. The next phase of this project includes tearing down the old school while also overseeing construction of the practice field, tennis courts, and parking lots. We can't wait to show you the finished product!
