Today is #NationalDoSomethingNiceDay! DAV encourages you to find a veteran in need in your community and lend a helping hand. Whether you help them with some yard work, offer to give them a ride to an appointment or just give them someone to talk to, you can make a lasting impact on their life. Check out this recap of the first ever DAV Community Impact Day earlier this year to get inspired!

Like so many others stationed at Karshi-Khanabad Air Base in Uzbekistan—a location where signs warned of dangerous toxins—Andrea LaForce experienced fatigue, headaches and coughing. Months after leaving the base, she was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. LaForce’s story is featured in DAV and MOAA’s groundbreaking report, Ending the Wait for Toxic-Exposed Veterans. Backed by original research and historical analysis, the report shows that on average, toxic-exposed veterans—many of them suffering life-threatening diseases—have to wait more than 30 years to access the full range of health care and benefits they earned and urgently need. Learn more and become part of the solution at endingthewait.org. #veterans #military #toxicexposure #DAV #MOAA
