According to a recent CNBC article, Maryland ranks 47th in terms of the cost of doing business. States with higher rankings are making significant investments in transportation infrastructure, particularly roadways. Freight, supplies, groceries, packages—every tangible business product—reaches us via our roadways, not through mass transit. Governor Wes Moore recently visited states like Texas and North Carolina, which are ahead of us in the rankings.
