  • Last week’s Unified Golf Competition was a blast! Our athletes showcased their skills, determination, and most importantly, the spirit of unity and inclusion. We’re thrilled to share that our athletes placed 3rd, 2nd, and 1st! 🥉🥈🥇 Unified Sports, a program by Special Olympics, brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. This initiative promotes social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. It’s all about breaking down barriers and fostering friendships through the power of sports. Here are some highlights from the event, including a group photo of our amazing team. These moments capture the essence of what Unified Sports is all about – teamwork, camaraderie, and a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who supported our athletes and made this event possible. Your encouragement and enthusiasm mean the world to us. #UnifiedSports #GolfCompetition #Inclusion #TeamSpirit

  • 🏆 Celebrating Leadership and Excellence at Viewmont High! 🏆 We are excited to announce that Andru Jones has been named the Davis School District Teacher of the Year! This prestigious award, in partnership with Young Kia Kia, honors Mr. Jones for his exceptional leadership as a special education teacher and football coach at Viewmont High School. Mr. Jones has made a significant impact at Viewmont High since joining, bringing unmatched positivity and dedication that has transformed the school's culture. Assistant Principal Hadyn Call noted, "His students know he loves them, his players know he loves them, and the community knows he loves them." Beyond his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Jones leads the Vikings football team in various community initiatives, earning a reputation as a "community-focused powerhouse." His compassionate approach and commitment to character development are evident in every interaction, particularly with our Essential Elements students. This morning, we celebrated Mr. Jones at Viewmont High School with a special ceremony. The event included a surprise gift—a car from Young Kia, with one year of insurance provided by Goldenwest Credit Union, to show our community's appreciation for his incredible contributions. Special thanks to the YOUNG CARING FOR OUR YOUNG INC for their support! Thank you, Andru Jones, for your dedication and for being an inspiration to us all. Here’s to many more years of making a difference! 🌟 #DavisTeacherOfTheYear #ViewmontHigh #EducationExcellence #CommunityLeadership #YoungKia #GoldenWestCreditUnion #YoungCaringForOurYoungFoundation #DavisEdFoundation

  • 🌟 Supporting Our Students Together This Summer! 🍔 We're excited to share a wonderful initiative in partnership with HB Boys Management, a franchise manager of many Burger Kings in Utah, to aid students in need across several elementary schools throughout the district. Thanks to HB Boys' generous donation, we're handing out punch cards each offering 10 free Burger King meals! 🎈 👑 In addition to the meals, the kids received Burger King crowns and stickers, adding extra joy to their day. Many children rely on school breakfasts and lunches every day and face food insecurity during the summer months when they can't rely on school for those meals. These meals aim to bring smiles and support to students during the summer holidays. A heartfelt thanks to HB Boys for their commitment to our community and for fueling the next generation! We're so grateful for the support of partners like this that are looking out for kids. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children! #SupportingStudents #CommunityCare #BurgerKing #SummerSupport #HBBoysManagement #NourishingOurFuture
