Managing Partner Gregory Hayes and former Chief Justices of the Connecticut Supreme Court Chase Rogers and Richard Robinson were featured in Harriet Jones’ Hartford Business Journal cover story, “In Rare Feat, Law Firm Day Pitney Lands Two Former CT Supreme Court Chief Justices.” The feature article highlights both Rogers and Robinson’s choice to join Day Pitney upon their retirement from the bench. “Part of what made Ric so attractive to us was the experience we have had with Chase since she joined us and the capabilities and experience that she was able to bring to the firm,” said Hayes. “I’d be grateful to have every retired chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court choose to join us in our firm.” Rogers added, “While Justice Robinson and I are dear friends, we don’t always share the same views of the case, right? So now you’ve got two different perspectives who may have very different takes on a case and what’s effective and what’s not effective. So I think that’s a real opportunity for clients as well.” In addition to his appellate practice, Robinson, the first Black chief justice of the state Supreme Court, will be working with the firm and clients on DEI initiatives. He added, “Employers have to have a big umbrella when they’re dealing with these employment issues. And a lot of these issues can be cut off at the very start by having a culturally accepting and culturally competent environment. It’s providing an entire package, not just the lawyering, but the other things that you need in order to solve the problem.” #CTLawyers #JudicialBranch #Litigators #DEI #DiversityinLaw #AppellateLaw https://lnkd.in/eNWxqi8f

Miami Real Estate Partner Sandra Ferrera participated in the 7th Annual Women Leaders in Real Estate program hosted at her alma mater's, the University of Miami, Campus. The program was co-hosted by the University of Miami School of Architecture and the CREWMiami Chapter (Commercial Real Estate Women). The event's format was a topic-by-table with an emphasis on the students rotating around each attending leader's table to learn about various industries. Sandy, a real estate lawyer with over 20 years of experience practicing in South Florida, engaged students by sharing insights into the realities of the profession. She opened a discussion about a typical day in the life of a real estate lawyer, along with specific case patterns and emerging trends in the field. This sparked a lively dialogue, raising thoughtful questions about the future of the industry and giving students a clearer perspective on the challenges and opportunities ahead. #MiamiRealEstate #UMLaw #FLAttorneys #CREWMiami
