Take Advantage of the Retirement Saver’s Credit Many taxpayers miss out on the Retirement Saver’s Credit, which allows individuals with moderate to low income to claim a credit for contributing to retirement accounts like an IRA or 401(k). Call 800-503-2000 for a FREE consultation so our attorneys can determine if you qualify. Rollover Unused 529 Plan Funds for Retirement Unused 529 plan funds can be rolled over to a Roth IRA for retirement, starting in 2024. This provision is part of the SECURE 2.0 Act, which was passed at the end of 2022. Some say that a 529-to-Roth rollover should be treated as a potential backup option, rather than a retirement-saving strategy unto itself but let the attorneys at Dayes take a look at your entire financial situation and determine how this aligns with your Estate Planning strategy. Deduct Interest on Business Loans If you’ve taken out a loan for your business, don’t forget that interest paid on business loans can possibly be tax-deductible. Whether it's for equipment, inventory, or other business expenses, the interest on a business loan can reduce your taxable income, helping you save at tax time. Make sure to properly document the loan and ensure it’s directly tied to business operations and bring your documentation to a FREE consultation with one of our experienced tax attorneys at Dayes Law Firm. #FreeConsultation #Dayeslawfirm #TaxAttorney

The belief that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day has its origins in both historical and cultural superstitions. There are several theories as to why this day became associated with bad luck: 1. Biblical and Religious Origins: Friday: In Christian tradition, Friday is often associated with bad luck because it is believed to be the day Jesus was crucified. Some also associate it with other biblical events, such as the day Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden, and the Great Flood beginning on a Friday. The Number 13: The number 13 has long been considered unlucky in various cultures. In Christianity, at the Last Supper, 13 people were present, and Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest. This association led to a superstition around the number 13 and its link to betrayal and bad fortune. 2. Knights Templar: A major event that solidified the connection between Friday the 13th and bad luck happened on Friday, October 13, 1307. On this day, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest of hundreds of the Knights Templar, a powerful religious and military order. The Templars were accused of heresy, and many were imprisoned, tortured, or executed. This event has been popularized in modern culture as one of the origins of the superstition. 3. Cultural Associations with 13: In many cultures, the number 13 is considered unlucky due to its placement after 12, which is often seen as a "complete" or "perfect" number (12 months in a year, 12 zodiac signs, etc.). The addition of one more number is seen as unbalanced or imperfect. #dayeslawfirm #friday #fridayvibes #estateplanningattorney

Here are three valuable tax tips to help maximize savings and ensure compliance: 1. Take Advantage of Tax-Deferred Retirement Accounts Contributing to tax-deferred retirement accounts like a 401(k) or an IRA can help lower your taxable income for the current year. The money you contribute to these accounts grows tax-free until you withdraw it in retirement, potentially saving you on taxes both now and in the future. 2. Keep Thorough Records for Deductions Whether you're claiming deductions for home office expenses, charitable donations, or medical bills, keeping detailed records and receipts is crucial. Well-organized records can help you maximize deductions and avoid issues if you're audited. Use apps or software to track expenses throughout the year. 3. Don’t Overlook Tax Credits Tax credits directly reduce the amount of tax you owe, and they are often more valuable than deductions. Look for credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, or education-related credits like the American Opportunity Tax Credit. These can significantly lower your tax liability. Call your tax attorney team at Dayes today and let's start securing your financial future. 800-503-2000 #dayeslawfirm #taxresolution #estateplanning #taxtips
