    Labor Day may signal the end of summer, but the demand for private brands continues to heat up. According to FMI- The Food Industry Association, 55% of consumers are purchasing more private brands this year. Two in three people plan to celebrate this weekend, and shoppers told Numerator they will shop at grocery stores the most for those BBQ needs, more than mass and club stores. Leveraging private brands to captivate shoppers via strategic online placement and in-store displays relevant to the holiday is a winning strategy.     Meet Scott Temples, a senior business manager within our Retailer Operations team. Scott oversees a retail partners’ supply of paper. Across a wide distribution network, he collaborates with suppliers and the retailer to manage over 600 points of paper distribution.    Scott continually looks for ways to mitigate production, transportation, and supply chain challenges, while overseeing a team of individuals to meet and exceed the needs of both our suppliers and retailer partner.    He personifies our Execute Relentlessly core value, taking ownership over our paper business but also championing his team to grow alongside him.    “I believe that it is imperative to provide as much assistance and training to my associates as possible,” shared Scott. “Getting them to a position of understanding in their respective categories to become category captains and valuable team members to the retailer and vendor partners.”    Thank you, Scott, for your determination in driving strong partnerships and growth for #TeamDaymon. 🚀   #Daymon #PrivateBrands #DaymonEmployeeSpotlight

    It’s one thing to work with an expert team. It’s another to work with a team you truly enjoy. It’s a whole other dimension with those worlds collide.     Meet Meghan Merritt, an associate business manager on our RSO Operations team. From customer and client relationship management to sales and product development support, Meghan excels in her dynamic role.   Since the beginning of the year, Meghan has taken on direct management of several categories like Pet and Baby, as the main contact and manager for 18 supplier clients. She didn’t stop there but also successfully onboarded four new suppliers.   Meghan strives to always represent our Put People First core value, playing an integral role in onboarding a summer intern and a new associate. She went above and beyond training these associates, believing strong mentorship and support is the key to driving confidence and growth.   “My biggest advice for those just starting out is to find a mentor who has knowledge of the industry and don’t be shy in asking a lot of questions,” shared Meghan. “There is a well of knowledge and experience around you at Daymon and there is always something new to learn at all stages.”   We couldn’t agree with you more, Meghan.     Our Daymon Japan team recently embarked on a collaborative journey with a top retail partner to explore sustainable product solutions and their impact from Europe to Asia. A two-day Copenhagen market tour immersed our teams and retail partner in a sustainability hotspot, with Denmark known for its leadership in sustainability. Following the tour, Daymon’s Cassandra Wilfore and Anne-Françoise RAVALET hosted and led a deep-dive workshop on key learnings and solutions. They shared how valuable these market tours are in sparking inspiration and actionable problem solving for retailers. “It is difficult for retailers to find time to get out into the markets,” shared Cassandra. “With Daymon as a partner, we can bridge that gap in global market knowledge, with hands-on learning and innovative solutions to help retailers or suppliers better meet their objectives to get where they want to be.” Interested in learning more about custom market tours and global solutions?     Meet Morgan Erickson, a business analyst on our Strategic Advisory team. Excited to learn new skillsets, Morgan always dives into diverse projects with a positive attitude and a mindset of how best to use data and insights to drive growth and opportunities for our supplier and retailer partners. In his current role, he is specifically focused on supporting our regional sales teams across a variety of channels and categories in North America.
