First-time Voters March! 🗳️ Last week, eligible students from each of our high schools marched across the 3rd Street Bridge to the County Board of Elections to vote in their first-ever election! The march included the Belmont & Meadowdale Colorguard, bands from Belmont, Dunbar and Trotwood, and candidates running for office from multiple parties. Thank you, Mayor Mims, for helping teach our students how important it is to get out and VOTE!

Support our band programs! 🎷🥁🎺 DPS is hosting Parent and Family Meetings to focus on Band Boosters and ways to support the band programs at our schools. The meetings will be held: 10/22 at Belmont from 6-7 PM 10/23 at Dunbar from 6-7 PM 10/24 at Thurgood Marshall from 6-7 PM Light refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!

A few weeks ago, the district hosted a faith-based luncheon for clergy members and others in faith-based organizations to connect and discuss how they can help support students. 💙 More than 20 representatives attended this meeting. DPS is looking forward to this growing partnership with our community. This event is held to honor Jayda Grant and open the conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.
