About us
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides District of Columbia residents and visitors with quality recreation and leisure facilities, services, and programs. DPR supervises many of the District of Columbia’s premier recreation and community centers, parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, aquatics facilities, spray parks, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, community gardens, dog parks and an ice rink. We coordinate a wide variety of programs including sports leagues, youth development, therapeutic recreation, aquatic programming, outdoor adventures and senior activities. DPR’s mission is to promote health and wellness; conserve the natural environment; and provide universal access to parks and recreation services.
