Mission: We are a Christ centered non-profit organization committed to providing opportunities to under served single mothers and all children that will better their lives. Vision: A world in which single mothers and all children have equal opportunities to live out their dreams and reach their full potential no matter race, background, past, financial situation, religious beliefs, or resources. Currently, in the United States 35% of single mothers raise their children in poverty. We also know that U.S. Census data shows that there are 14.5 million children living below the poverty line; 6.5 million of those are considered to be in extreme poverty. In addition, 56% of poor children live in single-mother homes. These statistics prove there is a substantial need for serving single-mothers who are not able to provide for themselves or their children. Poor children and teens have a greater risk of poor academic achievement, school dropout, abuse and neglect, behavioral problems, physical health problems, and developmental delays. The negative effects of poverty on children cause them to be more likely to continue the cycle of living in poverty in their adult lives; which continues to multiply the issue. These women and children deserve a better future than what appears ahead of them today; Deb's Dream is committed to helping provide this opportunity.
