Master the design of soil nail walls with SnailPlus, optimizing your geotechnical analysis process and improving model accuracy. ✓ Begin by opening the Model Wizard, where you can define your project’s model dimensions and layout for soil nails with precision. Adjust shotcrete facing properties, configure head plates, and add waler bars to customize your model. ✓ Tailor the stratigraphy by generating custom soil layer lines that match inclined layers, drawing directly on the model area. Switch modes to refine each soil layer line’s coordinates and ensure they reflect real-world conditions. Add strip surcharges at any stage for versatile modeling. ✓ Analyze slope stability with SnailPlus and review results in detail. Overstressed components are marked clearly in red, helping you identify critical items such as head plates. Edit these elements easily, with options to adjust plate sizes, add studs, and include waler bars, ensuring your soil nail wall meets project requirements. 🎥 Discover how SnailPlus refines soil nail wall design and elevates your analysis. Watch the demonstration and explore SnailPlus today. Achieve precision and optimization in soil nail wall modeling with SnailPlus! #GeotechnicalEngineering #SnailPlus #DeepExcavation

In this How-to Wednesday: How to use a 2-stage facing (temporary and permanent facing) on a soil nail wall model in SnailPlus Unlock the full potential of SnailPlus by mastering 2-stage facings on soil nail wall models. This guide shows how to effectively use both temporary and permanent facings, giving engineers control over reinforcement adjustments at each construction phase. Start with the temporary facing, reinforced on the “left” or “bottom” side for initial stability, and seamlessly integrate permanent facing with additional reinforcement in later stages. SnailPlus facilitates the seamless switch between facings, enhancing safety and efficiency. Adjustments to thickness, reinforcement spacing, and material selections allow for tailored structural behavior, ensuring your project meets required factors for each stage. Conduct comprehensive geotechnical checks, analyze shear and moment capacities, and adapt to project needs with ease. 👍Want to elevate your project workflow? 👉Visit our site and explore SnailPlus features #DeepExcavation #SnailPlus #GeotechnicalEngineering

FAQ: What load types can I apply on a single pile in DeepFND? DeepFND software offers an extensive array of load types for single pile analysis, making it possible to model even the most complex real-world conditions. With DeepFND, you can apply various load types at different construction stages, including live loads, dead loads, wind loads, downdrag loads, and more. This flexibility allows you to create realistic load combinations tailored to your proje1ct requirements. To ensure accurate simulations, DeepFND provides options for both service conditions, where exact load magnitudes are applied, and factored designs, automatically adjusting loads per international standards like AASHTO LRFD and Eurocode 7. These adjustments ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Enhancing Geotechnical Engineering with Comprehensive Soil Data for Earth Retaining Structures 🌍🏗️ In geotechnical engineering, reliable soil data is fundamental to the stability of retaining walls, foundations, and deep excavations. Traditional soil testing methods, while valuable, can sometimes be slow or lack the precision needed for complex projects. This is where Cone Penetration Tests (CPT) bring a significant advantage, providing efficient and precise insights into subsurface conditions. CPT testing captures critical parameters like cone tip resistance, sleeve friction, and pore pressure, enabling engineers to estimate essential soil properties such as friction angle, cohesion, and undrained shear strength. Our software solutions—DeepEX, DeepFND, HelixPile, SnailPlus, and QuayWalls—integrate CPT data to streamline data import and processing, visualize soil stratigraphy, and support statistical analysis, promoting safer and more dependable designs. Additionally, they offer extensive soil property estimation tools, including options to derive values from Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data, empirical equations, soil descriptions, and published references. These tools can provide a sound basis for initial data, reducing the risk of incomplete or inaccurate input. However, final selection and evaluation of soil properties remain the responsibility of the engineer; software cannot replace the critical insight and experience professionals bring to the field. Our solutions simply aim to equip users with an informed starting point, allowing for better initial assumptions and minimizing risks tied to data limitations. Unlock the power of CPT data, soil estimation tools, and software-driven precision for safer, smarter geotechnical designs! 💻🔧 Follow Deep Excavation LLC for more insights! #GeotechnicalEngineering #CPT #SoilTesting #DeepExcavations #FoundationDesign #EngineeringInnovation #DeepEX

Attention #geotechnicalengineers: One option for #deepexcavation design is to use a cutter soil-mix wall reinforced with steel beams at regular intervals. In this case from @Australia, a CSM wall was braced by one level of hydraulic bracing. The steel bracing was removed after the base slab and the 1st basement level were cast. A few tricks of the trade: your slabs are never cast perfectly. This means gaps are formed, and shrinkage will cause extra wall movements. We will discuss how to simulate this in our upcoming workshop on October 30. The images compare displacements for 2D and 3D #geotechnical #finitelement models with #DeepEX 2024.
