Invest in your brand and sell more weed with SEO and Paid Media | Author - "How to Sell More Weed - A Field Guide”

Brian and Shahzaib are guys in the trenches behind the scenes that you never see but make it all happen. They are the wizards in the Wizard of Website Oz. Shahzaib’s SEO strategy and tactics are unmatched in their ability to increase our Partner's visibility and get them ranking in the top three. Brian’s web design keeps customers engaged on their website and increased engagement means increased conversions (more $$.). They’re like opposite sides of the same coin. Shahzaib gets people to your website, and Brian keeps them there. But that’s only half the story. They also bring positive vibes and an unmatched work ethic to everything they do. They put the extra in extra mile and the sun in sunshine. Their positive attitude and drive to be the best is infectious and plays a huge role in deeproots partners' success. Thanks guys! We’re lucky and grateful to have you on the squad.

Helping cannabis retailers sell more weed through Google Search via SEO, High-Converting Websites and Google Ads.

If you’ve been following our story, you know deeproots partners got together for a retreat a little while ago. We shot these little segments called “On The Spot” so you could get to know the amazing people that make deeproots one of the best digital agencies in cannabis. This episode spotlights Jeni Valtinson. Jeni is a special human.I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person take on so much and never even blink. She has a unique ability to synthesize complex systems and make what once seemed impossible, totally manageable. I love it when I work with her because I get half the credit but I’m only half as smart. On top of all that, she’s also an amazing musician and a super cool human that makes everyone around her feel good and get better at what they do. Like she said, Jeni really does get shit done. And even though she’s super chill here, Jeni has another gear she can shift into when shit’s not getting done. So watch out, y'all. This Florida native can be sweet as pie or a gator with a serious bite! Who you get to see is up to you (I see the gator a lot. I’m missing a couple of fingers). Anyway, deeproots loves you Jeni and we wouldn't be where we are without you. (Smile smile chomp chomp I didn’t need those fingers anyway).

How does Sallie Blackmon help you sell more weed? Here’s how: We shot a fun little segment called  “On The Spot” at the “deeproots partners retreat” where I snuck up on each team member and asked them the million dollar question. These videos are all candid, authentic responses. No prep. Few edits. I started shooting “On The Spot" 5 years ago at Tropicanna and I love it for two reasons. 1) You get to know what people do and why they do it. 2) You also get to see their authentic personality. We might be companies, but we’re full of unique people that find a way to come together for a common goal. In this case, it’s to help our partners sell more weed. Sorry not sorry for the “On the Spot” ambush Sallie. You are one of my favorite humans and how you have restructured content and leveraged AI on the fly has changed the game here. You’re also a kick-ass cannabis writer, so I’m pretty much just a total Sallie fan-boy. Grateful I get to work with you and have learned so much from you over the years.

Invest in your brand and sell more weed with SEO and Paid Media | Author - "How to Sell More Weed - A Field Guide”

6 years ago I hired Matthew Shterenberg and Eugiene Jonathan Pisarevsky of deeproots partners to do my digital marketing at Tropicanna. They helped take my shop from dead last to $15M a year in gross revenue. Within 1.5 years we were a top 5 shop in the OC. It was one of the best decisions I ever made at Tropicanna. This is why I made it. Integrity and Transparency. When I met with Matt he told me exactly what he would do, how he would do it, and what results I could expect. Then he delivered. A lot has happened since then. I exited Tropicanna 3 years ago. Today, I’m CMO of deeproots partners. During that time we’ve worked on over 60 campaigns for dispensaries, deliveries, and brands that have generated over $55M in more weed sold. We’ve done it the same way we did it at Trop - with integrity and transparency. This video of the founders is from deeproots partners' first company retreat.  It went down last week in LA. It’s not so much about what they say as how they say it. It’s all about the glow. You just can’t fake the glow. Their gratitude, passion, and commitment are the north star that leads a team united by their values and a collective desire to be the very best at what we do. We help dispensaries, deliveries, and brands sell more weed. All day. Every day. Can’t stop. Won’t stop. Rank & Spank forever.

Helping cannabis retailers sell more weed through Google Search via SEO, High-Converting Websites and Google Ads.

The most expensive thing in cannabis marketing is cheap SEO. Rule #1: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you’re wondering how to spot a cheap SEO agency, here are 3 red flags to sniff them out. 1. They inflate vanity metrics They use superficial, short-term tactics that do more harm than good. You get vanity metrics like traffic or impressions that have little effect on revenue. What matters is conversions. 2. They use link farms Cheap SEO providers often promise quick gains through low-quality backlinks like link farms. These are a network of websites that link to each other for the sole purpose of inflating backlink profiles. They offer no real value because they come from irrelevant, low-authority sites. Google penalizes low-quality backlinks, they will figure it out, and when they do it will hurt your rankings. 3. Apply surface-level Technical SEO You have to go much deeper than just touching on technical aspects like site speed or mobile optimization. Proper technical SEO requires ongoing audits and refinements. Check out these actual SEO horror stories some of our partners went through before working with us: Story #1 One dispensary operator came to us after 8 months of working with a cheap SEO agency that promised to double their sales. Instead, they got: - Steadily declining traffic and revenue. - The poor user experience on their website led to a high bounce rate.  - They had no control over their own site with agency hosting plus the agency withheld access to Google Search Console. In the end, they burned at least $30K+ on that snake oil before they found us and started over with a real budget that delivered real impact. Story #2 We lost a bid to another agency with a low-ball retainer.  The dispensary thought they would save $, but they lost traffic and revenue that turned out to be double the cost of our retainer had they done it right the first time with us. That smack in the mouth caused real trauma which left them wondering whether SEO even worked. It took a while to walk them off the ledge by showing real results over time. Today, they’re one of our most successful partners. The promise of a high-quality, comprehensive SEO strategy for $1,000 a month is a lie. It is a promise that guarantees failures. SEO is a critical investment in your website/brand that requires strategic planning, top-notch execution, and ongoing optimization. In case you haven't figured it out, you want people visiting your site and converting. That’s how you make money. Anything else is wasted time and lost revenue. The takeaway? Cutting corners never gets results and always causes more problems, higher cost, and lost potential of what you could have accomplished if you did it right the first time. We’ve generated over $55 million (probably a lot more by now) in additional revenue for our partners through our bulletproof SEO strategies. If you want to know more about SEO strategies that work, shoot a DM.

Invest in your brand and sell more weed with SEO and Paid Media | Author - "How to Sell More Weed - A Field Guide”

Don’t let Leafly and Weedmaps STEAL your non-branded traffic. The majority of the traffic for these marketplaces comes from non-branded searches like: • Dispensary near me • THC gummies • Best strains for anxiety • Dispensary deals With non-branded traffic, consumers are searching for products and information, not the marketplaces themselves. 89% of Leafly’s traffic came from non-branded searches last year. 73% of Weedmaps’ traffic came from non-branded searches last year. (source: Dispense (acquired by AIQ) State of Cannabis SEO report by the OG Jeremy Johnson) That’s why Weedmaps and Leafly invest heavily in SEO to dominate non-branded searches. They know that whoever owns these searches owns the consumer journey. What your dispensary needs to win this battle is a strong SEO strategy that creates high-quality content around non-brand keywords. This will drive traffic to your website and stop Leafly and Weedmps from dominating these searches. You can beat these marketplaces at their own game. We do it for our partners every day. We can do it for you. If you need help, shoot a DM.
