About us
The DeKalb Township Supervisor's office provides residents of DeKalb Township with a variety of services. The Township Supervisor oversees the maintenance and sale of burial plots for Oakwood and Evergreen Cemeteries. The Township Supervisor's office is also responsible for managing the Emergency Assistance and General Assistance programs for DeKalb Township. Other Services include Senior Utility Assistance, Job Coach Services, & Special Events (i.e. shredding, electronic recycling, mobile Secretary of State, etc.).

It's time to gather up all that clutter and purge it! The weather is changing and we will soon be spending more time indoors. Don't get stuck looking at all kinds of unwanted "stuff" all winter long. Take advantage of SEVERAL safe collection & recycle opportunities this weekend! DeKalb & Sycamore Township will be hosting our semi-annual Shred Event for DeKalb & Sycamore Township Residents. Each resident may bring 2 bankers-sized boxes or brown bags of paper documents and/or CD-Rs to be destroyed. This event will be held at the Kishwaukee Family YMCA from 9 AM - 11 AM. Proof of Residency is required. Also, taking place on Saturday, the DeKalb County Health Department's division of Solid Waste will be taking up collections for Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Aerosol Products, Latex Paints, Single-Use Propane Tanks, Clothing & Household Textiles. Have you swapped out your old transponder for the new I-PASS/E-ZPass Sticker yet? If not, DeKalb Township is offering two opportunities to get that done. Anyone needing this service is encouraged to call Kimberly at the DeKalb Township (815-758-8282) to book an appointment* for August 1st (9AM - 3PM) or September 12th (1PM - 7 PM). *Appointments are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for the event on 8/1 and are REQUIRED for the event on 9/12.
