Our trip to Brazil wasn't all about food, we actually got some work done too 😂 Fábio found a fantastic co-working space in Rio that had a meeting room that would fit us all. We had several ideas planned for in person sessions but we let the team vote on them to choose what we discussed. In the end, the most impactful session, in my opinion, was one curated and led by Aaron Oliver. Aaron proposed an aspirational future in 5 years where DeliverThat has become a unicorn: A wildly successful and wildly profitible business. A place where everyone wants to work and every other company admires. In this aspirational future, what are the things that are true? After a slow start, the comments started flowing. We filled up 2 whiteboards of aspirations from minor things to moonshots, from tech focused to company strategy; no comment was off limits. This is the foundation of our own vision board of values that we will unpack more over time as a team. This exercise gave our team a chance to gaze into the future and have a mental stake in helping shepard that specific future forward. While I will not reveal what is on our board for the most part, one corner stood out to me that you can see in the pics below. If you can't read Aaron's fantastic handwriting (the markers didn't help 😂 ) it says: -Users love our portals -Drivers love our app -Drivers remain our focus While DeliverThat is a services business at it's core, we are building more and more technology that interfaces with an increasing variety of users. If we aren't making products that those users love, we are not succeeding.
