Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin reposted this
To improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survival, UT Austin and MD Anderson Cancer Center have joined forces to enable groundbreaking research projects aimed at addressing some of the most pressing unmet needs in oncology. Through the Collaborative Accelerator for Transformative Research Endeavors, five teams composed of researchers from both institutions will receive up to $4.5 million each over the next 4.5 years to conduct cancer research projects with unprecedented scope, including addressing microplastic pollution as a potential contributor to rising cancer rates, improving treatment options for tumors in the spine, sacrum and pelvis, and more. "We want to capitalize on the unparalleled talent and expertise that can only be enabled through a collaboration between UT Austin and MD Anderson," said Interim President Jim Davis. "The goal of this grant program is to accelerate discoveries and identify research initiatives that can grow to scale and break new ground." UT Austin Research projects span Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, Cockrell School of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin, College of Natural Sciences UT-Austin, The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy and School of Information - The University of Texas at Austin.
