Experience Trigno in action! Together with Motion Capture tools, we analyze the movement and muscle activity of a soccer athlete, capturing high-quality data for optimal performance insights. This enables a detailed, real-time biomechanical analysis of both athletic technique and player performance.

👨💻👈 Creating natural user interfaces (NUIs) for #HumanComputerInteractions is a rapidly evolving beast, but not one without its limitations! Through #Augmented and #VirtualReality, biosignals allow the possibility to control interactions and interfaces in a hands-free capacity ❌ 🖐 However, biosignals are #MultiModal, #MultiDimensional, and noisy, requiring domain expertise to design input features for gesture classifiers. Gesture recognition through #EMG is nothing new as it has been used reliably for myoelectric work and prosthetic control. But, more recently it has gained traction for the possibilities of transforming the way we use computers and head mounted displays (HMDs) for video gaming, simulation-based training, medicine, and enabling device accessibility for people with disabilities 🙌 One main difference between prosthetic control and NUIs for human-computer interfacing is that prosthetics often rely on discrete gesture recognition such as a pinch 👌 open hand ✋ closed fist 👊 etc... all movements with defined beginning and ends. But for more natural ways to interact with computing, there is the need to incorporate more continuous type of gestures such as swiping (which generally happens during mid-air)! Gesture recognition from mid-air movements have presented problems previously with what has been termed as the 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: "𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒅-𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕" This paper (🔗 link for the paper in the comments 👇) offers an algorithmic approach which outperforms traditional machine learning techniques with 95% gesture recognition accuracy for mid-air gestures 🔝 Using the Delsys, Inc system alongside the miniature heads of the #TrignoDuo sensors, researchers from the University of Washington and Rice University (Momona Yamagami, Claire Mitchell, Jennifer Mankoff) have released the $B recognizer for multi-dimensional biosignal gestures which allows for mid-air gesture recognition without needing expertise in algorithm development 😍 This showcases the potential and feasibility of accessible biosignal interfaces for #HumanComputerInteractions 📊 The online dataset is publicly available and why not dig into it to see how #EMG can help further your research and work into human-centered computing 💻

#EMG can offer quantitative feedback on the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions and assessments of workplace safety 👷♀️ Was a pleasure to be able to give an online lecture yesterday to a group of PhD student in ergonomics at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Whilst there are so many topics to be able to cover, some key takeaways were: ⚡ What is EMG? 🔎 How can the EMG signal be analyzed within ergonomics? 👨🏭 Applied examples and use cases ❓ Limitations and considerations of field deployable technology 🔜 Future outlooks for advancements in industry 4.0 We've been lucky enough to have so many fantastic collaborators and clients over the years who can share their stories and experiences of using Delsys, Inc #EMG technology within industrial and workplace settings! But, the future holds even more intrigue with advancements of #HumanRobotCollaborations and #DigitalTwins to optimize and streamline the manufacturing process with guided real-time physiological feedback 💪 If you are interested in reading more on this topic, check out our previous blog post 👇 or message me 📩 for further details! 📰 - https://lnkd.in/eJSEwRBX
