  • We're proud to announce the opening of the Delta Dental Equity Hall at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. Starting fall, 2025, this brand-new building will be home to the PNWU School of Dental Medicine - the second dental school in the state - and will host an inaugural class of 36 students! We attended a ribbon cutting last weekend that represents the culmination of our partnership with PNWU to break ground on this new facility and take innovative action towards our vision of better overall and oral health for all. Delta Dental Equity Hall is intended to house a school of dental medicine that revolutionizes the model of preparing dental students for a career in oral health. The curriculum addresses inequities that exist in rural areas and underserved communities by training a new generation of dental professionals in communities with the greatest need. Our mission at Delta Dental of Washington is to disrupt, transform and revolutionize the oral health industry in order to remove barriers to health care and improve overall health. By backing initiatives like this one at PNWU, we take active steps toward realizing this mission, and can proudly watch our vision come true, one graduating class at a time. At Delta Dental of Washington, we believe that building a healthier community goes beyond oral care—it means supporting the overall health and wellness of everyone in Washington. That's why we’re proud to participate in this year’s American Heart Association #HeartAndStrokeWalk, happening this weekend at SEATTLE CENTER and virtually. For the past month, our team has been raising awareness and funds for the AHA’s mission to research and fight heart disease and stroke. Together, Delta Dental of Washington team members raised roughly $40,000 before the close of the event. We're humbled by our team’s commitment to making a difference for such an important cause. This Saturday, many of our colleagues, including our senior leadership team, will be walking together for a healthier Washington. Whether you’re walking with us in person or supporting from afar, every step counts. Let’s take action for our heart health and for those we care about. #HeartAndStrokeWalk #MoveMoreChallenge #CommunityHealth #HealthyWashington #Oralhealth #hearthealth

Why Dental Benefits? Special posting from our dental partner Delta Dental of Washington! As business leaders, we often look for ways to drive growth and improve our bottom line, yet we may overlook the role that employee well-being plays in this equation. Dental coverage plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy, productive workforce. When employees have access to regular dental care, they are less likely to miss work due to preventable issues, and their overall health improves. The result? A more engaged and efficient team, which directly impacts business performance. It’s time we rethink how we approach benefits, recognizing that comprehensive coverage, including dental from @Delta Dental of Washington, is not just an employee perk but a strategic investment in our business’s future.  #Leadership #EmployeeWellness #BusinessStrategy #WorkplaceHealth #employeebenefits

Employers work hard to make sure their teams have the benefits they need to stay healthy, motivated, and productive. So, what would be the point if the benefits are too hard to actually use? I find that so many benefits companies have difficult and opaque processes that make it a chore to schedule appointments, find providers, and track claims. For that reason, if you want to really know how beneficial a benefits company really is, check their tools. Here are a few questions to ask when you're thinking about adding a benefit for your employees: 1. What online tools do they? Look to see if your benefit's website has tools to find care, track claims, or speak to a representative. 2. Where do you find the tool on their website? Make sure your employees won't have to dig just to track a claim or find a provider. 3. Who functions do their tools serve? A benefits company should have tools the serve their core purpose and mission - to help employees find care and stay healthy. Once you have the answers to these three questions, you'll have a better understanding of just how easy it will be for your team members to actually use the benefits your company provides. Looking for a great example of what a benefits tool should really look like? Take a look at this overview of Delta Dental of Washington's Find a Dentist tool.

  • Oral health is one crucial part of your overall health, especially as you age. That’s why we are dedicated to supporting and promoting initiatives that encourage all Washingtonians to take control of their overall health, throughout their entire lives. Here’s what that means. This year, we are supporting the WASHINGTON STATE SENIOR GAMES, an organization that encourages Washingtonians 50 and over to be active and build community through friendly competition. This year, competitors can participate in a variety of events from rock climbing to ballroom dancing, golf, and softball. We will be attending the track and field and pickleball events in July and August, to cheer on our community and to make sure our neighbors in the South Sound region have the information and resources they need to keep their bodies strong and their smiles healthy. Read more about the games and how we’ll be participating here! https://lnkd.in/g8yCCpmB #oralhealth #healthyliving #oralhealth #communityhealth #seniorliving

Juneteenth is when we acknowledge the day that the last enslaved people in the United States were notified of their freedom, 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation made it so. To many, Juneteenth is America’s second Independence Day.   We’ve closed our offices today in recognition of the importance of Juneteenth.    We pay tribute to the significant contributions so many black and brown people have made. One example is Ida Gray Nelson Rollins, our country’s first female African American dentist. Dr. Rollins graduated from the University of Michigan College of Dentistry in 1890.   Although progress has been made, there is still much work left to do. The systemic barriers that exist in healthcare, including racism, are immense. Delta Dental is committed to working diligently toward a future in which all people can have access to good oral and overall health.   We wish you a joyous Juneteenth – an important day for each of us.
