A truly remarkable night celebrating the transformative power of service at the sixth annual George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards! The room was filled with inspiration and mission-driven energy as we proudly honored Shrusti Amula, Arthur M. Blank, Ashley Brown and Patrick Dempsey for their extraordinary dedication to volunteering and communities upholding the principles President George H.W. Bush stood for - volunteerism, empathy and a vision for a brighter future. With Bob Costas serving as emcee, and board chair Neil Bush and president and CEO Jennifer Sirangelo kicking off the evening, we celebrated the profound impact of giving back, joined by our dedicated event Co-Chairs, Steering Committee, generous sponsors, board members and esteemed guests. A special thank you to Fernando Varela, alongside Thomas "Boh" Cooper, for their breathtaking performances that filled the room with emotion. Meet Lindsey. She's an inspiring advocate of the Dempsey Center, and we're honored to also call her a dear and treasured friend. She and Unum show us in action what philanthropy and service look like, and we are so grateful for all they do to help make life better for people impacted by cancer.
Lindsey Lehoux understands the value of the Dempsey Center - as an employee of Unum Group, which supports their mission through grants, as a family member of someone going through treatment and a cancer survivor. She encourages others to get involved with this organization, and the Dempsey Challenge is a great place to start. Read more of Lindsey's story here: http://spr.ly/6049oRcbW

Congratulations to our friends at Foundation for Women’s Cancer on their successful Move4Her event! We know a thing or two about what it takes to produce an event that brings people together in support of helping those impacted by cancer find support and comfort, and we celebrate all you made possible this past weekend! Our mutual pal Scott at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. shared some powerful words about the event, and we couldn't agree more... we are all better, more powerful, and more #extraordinarytogether.
Thank you #Charlotte and #Move4Her participants for an amazing Walk and Celebration this weekend! People from the region, across the United States, and as far away as South Korea came together to walk, celebrate, share stories, show support, and have a great time! Check out just a few photos here and in our Flickr album (more photos to be posted there next week): https://ow.ly/wa9j50TylX4 If you haven’t joined us yet, it’s not too late.
