However, several factors make the job hunt more challenging than the numbers suggest. 1. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 The attractive average salary of $121,600 means companies can afford to be choosier. Employers want the best bang for their buck. With higher salaries, they want someone who exceeds their requirements. This selectiveness raises the bar for applicants, making it harder to secure a role. 2. Last week, I had the pleasure of being at an event hosted by DITEX, where Networking, AI, and cybersecurity met! Why a pleasure? The event was a well-organized “No Sales” session discussing today’s complex technology and cybersecurity landscape. The assembled experts openly shared their experiences about AI, SaaS, Infrastructure, and cybersecurity, vs selling solutions. The following open forum allowed for a very interesting series of scenarios to be discussed on how “bad actors” are laser-focused on breaching defenses and the methods and bounties they have used to negatively impact unprepared companies. As I reflect on the DITEX session and my professional/technical experience, it was exciting to see the correlation between the panel’s forward-looking security suggestions and the successful proactive actions I have used to avoid/defeat “Bad actors”. As I look for my next technology leadership role I will continue to research developments in AI and cybersecurity as they impact our predominately SaaS-based industry.
