The Denver Basic Income Project (DBIP) is studying the impact of providing direct cash, with no strings attached, to unhoused people living in Denver. DBIP is currently enrolling 820 people experiencing homelessness with the partnership of community-based partners. The University of Denver’s Center for Housing and Homelessness Research is studying how basic income can impact acquiring stable housing, overall well-being, and economic security, and the study will last one year.

Last month, we completed the final payments to our 800+ participants, distributing more than $10.5M over the past 20 months. We’re deeply thankful to the participants who courageously shared their stories and to our community partners for their collaboration. We’re proud to have helped demonstrate how guaranteed income can serve as a dignified tool in the fight against poverty and inequality. 💪
