Exciting news from UI Health! Dr. David Chestek, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Chief Medical Information Officer, is part of an innovative project to revolutionize healthcare using AI. This interdisciplinary collaboration brings together experts from University of Illinois Chicago, the University of Iowa, the University of Missouri, and Loyola, with support from Microsoft and Tackle AI. By integrating data from various health professionals—nurses, therapists, and physicians—this project will create holistic datasets to improve patient outcomes. With $10M in ARPA-H funding, #UIC is at the forefront of transforming how we use healthcare data.

Shaveta Khosla, PhD, MPH, Director of Emergency Medicine Research, is featured in this month's UI Health Cancer Center News Roundup. Dr. Khosla, a pilot grant awardee from the Illinois Cancer Health Equity Research (I-CHER) Center in 2022, exemplifies the power of diversity in cancer research.
