Job growth for May 2024 increased by 2.2%, adding 38,100 jobs and utah’s unemployment rate is estimated at 2.9%. The May national unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.0%. The May employment report also highlights Utah’s multi-faceted economy. During the past year we saw job growth in sectors across the board with education and health services growing by 10,600, construction added 6,500 jobs and manufacturing grew by 4,000 jobs. This shows the economy is not dependent on a single industry. Instead, Utah’s labor market is more resilient to market fluctuations and downturns. This diversity also fosters innovation and growth by encouraging a variety of businesses and industries. https://lnkd.in/griHZrR2

The April 2024 jobs report was released showing job growth at 2.1% and unemployment holding at 2.8%. The state added about 36,800 new jobs during the past year and the current job count is 1.72 million workers. This gradual growth helps Utahns make confident decisions about their money. Predictability like this boosts confidence in spending and investing. It also usually means fewer people are out of work, jobs are more secure and prices don't rise too quickly. This kind of growth doesn’t make for spectacular headlines, but it does signal that Utah’s economy is on a solid foundation. To learn more: https://lnkd.in/gDn2pbBX

Yesterday, Robert Rutledge and I wrapped up our LinkedIn, Resume, Interview Skills, and Federal Resume class. It was a small class but the engagement was fantastic and it’s always great when I can see the💡turns on! Also, it was great to reconnect with some old friends, as well as make connections with new ones. Thanks to the Leadership David Osborne and Spencer Nielsen for allowing us to share our experiences with service members, Veterans, spouses, and their dependents who are transitioning. Do you recognize anyone? #veterans #veteranshelpingveterans #transitioningmilitary #transitioningservicemembers #spouseofveterans
