About us
As the Voice for Real Estate in Delaware™, the Delaware Association of REALTORS® (DAR) is the leading advocate for the industry, property owners, and all who seek safe, decent and affordable housing. Our organization provides the essential link for its members to the National Association of REALTORS® – the largest trade association in North America. DAR provides services to REALTORS® – member agents and brokers – including education, market indicators, and government affairs engagement and advocacy. Members of Delaware’s three local associations comprise the more than 4,200 residential and commercial REALTOR® members of DAR. All subscribe to NAR’s strict Code of Ethics which requires honest and ethical treatment in all transactions. The Delaware Association of REALTORS® (DAR), in conjunction with member boards/associations and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), serves and supports its membership by recognizing and addressing their needs and concerns, and by developing, providing and promoting programs/services that serve members and protect the public. The DAR promotes to the public the value of working with a REALTOR®. The association is proactive in government affairs at the local, state and national levels, seeking to protect an individual’s right to own, use and transfer property. The NAR ensures that its membership is able to practice real estate brokerage without the burden of unfair and counter-productive government regulations. Elected volunteer leaders from across Delaware comprise the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Information about our governance structure can be found in our bylaws.

Celebrating Our 2024 Good Neighbor Award Winners! We are thrilled to honor this year's Good Neighbor Award recipients, whose dedication to community service has made a lasting impact. Each of these remarkable individuals was presented with a $1,000 check to their chosen charity at our 302 Welcome Reception. Mark Dyer, Sr., of Keller Williams Realty Central DE, donates over 500 hours annually to youth sports programs, including Delaware District 1 Little League and Boy Scouts. His leadership in these programs has helped shape and mentor young people in Kent County. Eddie Barksdale, Broker/Owner of Barksdale & Affiliates Realty, founded the James Robert Barksdale Foundation in 2023 to support those struggling with addiction and mental health. In addition to his contributions to real estate, he gives back by providing holiday meals and gifts to families in need. Renee Parker has been a champion for those affected by mental illness, addiction, and homelessness in Sussex County. As a founding board member of Redemption City, her leadership has been vital in offering housing and life skills training to those rebuilding their lives. We are proud to recognize these outstanding REALTORS® for their dedication to improving their communities!
