Tonight, Desert Care Network celebrated a new 2,300 square-foot- clinic on the campus of Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs! The Center for Weight Management team of doctors, nurses and dietitians are proud to serve the growing interest in medical and surgical weight loss options for communities in Southern California.

Today, Desert Regional recognized Roldan 'Dan' Hapan, MSN, RN, for being named the 2023 Tenet Hero by Tenet Healthcare! Dan is the true example of a 'hero,' for his commitment to making a positive and meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and residents. Families and patients call him a 'Rock Star,' for his kindness and dedication to providing quality care at Desert Regional. We are inspired by you, and fortunate to have you on our team. Last night, Desert Care Network was honored to receive the President's Award from the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the chamber's Installation and Business Awards Dinner in recognition of our longstanding support of community organizations. Michele Finney, CEO of Desert Care Network, accepted the award on behalf of our doctors, nurses and staff. Thank you to the business community for this honor.

Congratulations to our graduating physician residents and fellows! The Class of 2024 includes physicians in the following specialties: 12 Family Medicine, 10 Emergency Medicine, two Surgical Critical Care, one Emergency Ultrasound and one Family Medicine - Obstetrics. A big thank you to Palm Springs Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for their donation of 80 blankets and art therapy kits for patients at our Comprehensive Cancer Center. The kits were accompanied by handwritten Messages of Hope that will make a big impact on the families we serve.

Desert Regional Medical Center is proud to be the first hospital in the Inland Empire to achieve the new Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from the Joint Commission. This designation recognizes our commitment to ensuring the highest level of care for mothers and babies in the Coachella Valley. It was Taco Tuesday at Desert Regional in honor of #EMSWeek. Our first responders were greeted with traditional birria by Outside the Masa food truck -- and words of thanks from our staff over the noon hour. Thank you, EMS teams for your commitment to facing the unknown and beginning the journey of compassionate care for patients on their way to the hospital.
