No ears, all attitude: this lizard's got moves that'll make you do a double-take! Greater Earless Lizards use tail whipping, stomping, and push-ups to claim their territory and impress potential mates. While they can hear, they don't have external ear openings, which helps them burrow in sandy soil, their favorite habitat. #DFLT #LandTrust #Conservation #LandConservation #SonoranDesert #AZDesert #Arizona #AZ #AZHerps #AZLizards #GreaterEarlessLizard #EarlessLizard #Lizards #Reptiles

Did you know the Sonoran Desert Toad is one of North America's largest toads? 🐸 These chunky amphibians can grow up to 7.5 inches long! Found in Arizona and parts of Mexico, they spend most of their time underground, coming out during summer rains to breed. But watch out - these toads pack a punch! They produce a potent toxin that can be dangerous to pets and humans. Despite this, they play an important role in their desert ecosystem, helping to control insect populations. If you see one, thank it for keeping the mosquitos away, and let it go about it's business. #DFLT #LandTrust #Conservation #LandConservation #SonoranDesert #AZDesert #Arizona #AZ #WildlifeWednesday #SonoranDesertToad #Toad

The Dancing Cactus can be found at the Preserve at Lone Mountain! This 78 acre preserve is forever protected through a conservation easement, which was a gift from H. B. and Jocelyn Wallace. The mountain is privately owned and it is not open to the public, but DFLT leads a hike to the top once a month. Join our email list for a chance to join us next month! https://buff.ly/3PZuAsJ #DFLT #LandTrust #Conservation #LandConservation #SonoranDesert #AZDesert #Arizona #AZ #LoneMountain #Scottsdale #ConservationEasement #Preserve #HikeAZ
