Tech Square 3, the new dual-tower home of Georgia Tech’s H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Ernest Scheller Jr. College of Business, is quickly rising over Midtown Atlanta’s busiest intersection. The lower levels of the building will provide student collaboration and meeting space alongside retail, with classroom and office space filling the towers above. RJTR is providing architecture and interior design services for the project in collaboration with EskewDumezRipple. Today I had the pleasure of participating in our Raleigh studio's Legacy Design Day, a unique event organized by Design Workshop to honor the creative roots of our profession and revisit our design process in detail. This day allows each studio to step back from the immediate demands of our projects and fully immerse ourselves in creativity, storytelling, and the process of shaping a project. DW Legacy Design Day is all about reconnecting with the core values that drive our process and a reminder of the importance of creativity in our daily practice and how it shapes the lasting impact of our work. Today was also really about slowing down in a world of increasingly faster design demands to really capture the essence of a site. I’m proud to be part of a team that values creativity and rigorous exploration and invests in nurturing it. It was a truly inspiring experience especially today as we spent some time out in nature at Prairie Ridge Ecostation.
