We are thrilled to congratulate Kristina Bertocchi and Daniel Mathur on their well-deserved promotions to Designer! Kristina’s journey has been truly inspiring, recently earning the 2024 Healthcare Design Rising Star Award, which cements her reputation as one of the industry's "next great leaders." In 2023, she received the AIA SLS Next Generation Scholarship, highlighting her talent and commitment to the field. Kristina has also made an impact through speaking engagements, including addressing the important topic of "Challenging the Architecture Stigma" at the Advisory Board Columbus events in 2022 and 2023, and delivering a thought-provoking presentation on Trauma-Informed Design at DesignColumbus 2024. Daniel Mathur has made an impressive impact over 6 years at DesignGroup, serving as a key architect and driving innovation within the firm. His contributions to our design culture and commitment to sustainability, significantly shaped the healthcare sector with clients such as The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, OhioHealth, Southern Ohio Medical Center, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. His projects span from Columbus to Pittsburgh and extend to Morris Hospital in Illinois and Norton Healthcare in Kentucky. Recently, Daniel was appointed to the University Impact District Review Board for the Columbus Planning Division, where he continues to champion design excellence from initial planning to final occupancy, while passionately integrating the arts into architecture. Our hearts go out to the family of Curt Moody, and our friends at Moody Nolan. Curt was a pillar in the architectural community, having impacted so many people and places in the Columbus area. He will be deeply missed.
It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of our Founder and Chairman, Curtis J. Moody, FAIA, NOMAC. Surrounded by family, he passed peacefully on Sunday, October 13th. Funeral Arrangements for Curt Moody: The viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at New Salem Baptist Church, located at 2956 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, OH 43224. The funeral service will immediately follow at the same location (New Salem). Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 3840 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, OH 43219, at approximately 1 pm. A funeral procession will travel to the cemetery; however, please note that parking is very limited. #RememberingCurtMoody

In 2024, Angela was honored as one of Healthcare Design’s Under 40 Award winners by the AIA/AAH, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the advancement of healthcare facilities design. Angela is also a founding member and former board member of both Cogence Alliance Central Ohio and the Ohio Chapter of Women in Healthcare. She has spoken at prestigious national conferences such as the Healthcare Design Conference and the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo. Additionally, she was invited to participate in the exclusive Healthcare Design Forum think tank. With over 20 years of experience, Mike Forejt has built a distinguished portfolio in healthcare design, working on projects that have transformed key medical facilities. He served as the project manager for the Morris Hospital Addition and Renovation and the YMCA in Morris, IL, and played a pivotal role in modernizing the OhioHealth Riverside Surgery Department, one of the busiest in Central Ohio. Mike’s extensive contributions to healthcare design have greatly impacted both his clients and the industry, enhancing the functionality and quality of care in medical environments. His ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships is evident in his collaborations with organizations like OhioHealth, Southern Ohio Medical Center, University Hospitals, University of Kentucky, and Morris Hospital.
