We are thrilled to congratulate Kristina Bertocchi and Daniel Mathur on their well-deserved promotions to Designer!   Kristina’s journey has been truly inspiring, recently earning the 2024 Healthcare Design Rising Star Award, which cements her reputation as one of the industry's "next great leaders." In 2023, she received the AIA SLS Next Generation Scholarship, highlighting her talent and commitment to the field. Kristina has also made an impact through speaking engagements, including addressing the important topic of "Challenging the Architecture Stigma" at the Advisory Board Columbus events in 2022 and 2023, and delivering a thought-provoking presentation on Trauma-Informed Design at DesignColumbus 2024.   Daniel Mathur has made an impressive impact over 6 years at DesignGroup, serving as a key architect and driving innovation within the firm. His contributions to our design culture and commitment to sustainability, significantly shaped the healthcare sector with clients such as The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, OhioHealth, Southern Ohio Medical Center, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. His projects span from Columbus to Pittsburgh and extend to Morris Hospital in Illinois and Norton Healthcare in Kentucky. Recently, Daniel was appointed to the University Impact District Review Board for the Columbus Planning Division, where he continues to champion design excellence from initial planning to final occupancy, while passionately integrating the arts into architecture.   We are excited to celebrate Kristina and Daniel’s achievements and look forward to the outstanding work they will continue to deliver. We are excited to announce the addition of Kemet Floyd Assoc. AIA, NOMA, to our team as a Project Associate Architect!   Kemet holds a degree from Kent State University College of Architecture, where he also minored in Sustainability. He is also currently pursuing his Master of Architecture at Arizona State University. His commitment to problem-solving and impactful projects drives his focus on sustainable and equitable design solutions. Kemet brings valuable experience from his roles at TerraSmart and Ubiquitous Design Ltd., where he worked as a Designer and Job Captain. His expertise and passion for design will be incredible assets to our team as we strive for innovative solutions in our projects. He is also actively involved with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Organization of Minority Architects, showcasing his dedication to the profession and advocacy for underrepresented voices in architecture. We're excited to introduce Orlando Echevarría García Assoc. AIA, our new Project Associate Architect! Orlando brings an impressive background and a deep passion for sustainability that will undoubtedly enrich our projects.   Orlando earned both their B.S. in Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Their academic excellence was recognized with an award in Design, and their Final Degree Project was qualified as Outstanding and also earned Third Place in the Student Work Honor Awards by AIA Puerto Rico. Orlando's professional journey includes valuable experience from Arq. Juan C. Penabad in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a role as a Senior Designer at BBCO in Columbus, OH. Her design interests are expansive, and she thrives on uncovering unique opportunities while engaging fully in every aspect of the design process.   Driven by a person-centered passion for thoughtful design, Riley has a demonstrated a skillful ability to create transformational interior spaces that are both inspiring and impactful. Her collaborative leadership style has allowed her to earn the respect of both colleagues and clients, who value not only her design abilities, but also her acumen for operational management. Riley has completed projects internationally and worked with prestigious clients such as Norton Children's Hospital , Nationwide Children's Hospital, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.   We're eager to see Riley continue delivering the exceptional work that has helped propel the firm’s interior design practice forward. Congratulations, Angela Kolosky, on your promotion to Principal!   Since joining DesignGroup in 2017, Angela Kolosky, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP BD C, has demonstrated unwavering passion and dedication to healthcare planning. Her contributions have not only elevated DesignGroup but also strengthened relationships with our clients and the broader industry.   In 2024, Angela was honored as one of Healthcare Design’s Under 40 Award winners by the AIA/AAH, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the advancement of healthcare facilities design. Angela is also a founding member and former board member of both Cogence Alliance Central Ohio and the Ohio Chapter of Women in Healthcare. She has spoken at prestigious national conferences such as the Healthcare Design Conference and the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo. Additionally, she was invited to participate in the exclusive Healthcare Design Forum think tank. A board-certified healthcare architect, Angela currently serves on the ACHA’s Communications and Outreach Committee. In 2020, she was honored as one of HCD’s Rising Stars.   Above all, clients seek out Angela by name for her expertise and trusted counsel. In her new role, she will continue to provide exceptional leadership as the Healthcare Planning Lead and Principal, driving growth and success at DesignGroup.

Congratulations, Michael Forejt, AIA, NCARB, on your promotion to Principal!   With over 20 years of experience, Mike Forejt has built a distinguished portfolio in healthcare design, working on projects that have transformed key medical facilities. He served as the project manager for the Morris Hospital Addition and Renovation and the YMCA in Morris, IL, and played a pivotal role in modernizing the OhioHealth Riverside Surgery Department, one of the busiest in Central Ohio. Mike’s extensive contributions to healthcare design have greatly impacted both his clients and the industry, enhancing the functionality and quality of care in medical environments. His ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships is evident in his collaborations with organizations like OhioHealth, Southern Ohio Medical Center, University Hospitals, University of Kentucky, and Morris Hospital.   Mike’s expertise has been recognized on a national scale, with his work featured in Healthcare Design and through his speaking engagements at the Healthcare Design Conference. Clients value Mike for his fair, balanced, and consistent approach to project management—a reflection of his dedication to clear communication and effective leadership.
