On March 1, attendees gathered to celebrate the brand-new Rock County Community Center in Bassett. The facility has a large multipurpose room, stage, kitchen and dining area, bar, and a smaller community meeting room. The City of Bassett’s offices will soon be housed in the 13,200-square-foot building as well. The community constructed the facility with support from a grant of $562,000 through the Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF). https://lnkd.in/gPeukYsU

DED announced $12,540,000 in awards through the Rural Workforce Housing Fund (RWHF) for program year 2024. Authorized by the Rural Workforce Housing Investment Act of 2017, the RWHF helps communities create quality, affordable housing to accommodate growth. https://lnkd.in/djkCUXp4

The Nebraska Commission on Housing and Homelessness invites nominations for the 2025 Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund Award! One winner will be selected per congressional district. Awards will be presented at NIFA’s 2025 housing conference in Lincoln on April 29th. Nominations are due Thursday, March 13, 2025. Email Kimberly.Jasa-Harris@nebraska.gov for the application form.

Construction is well underway in Norfolk on a new duplex that will soon be available to prospective homeowners! Construction is slated to be complete in June of this year. Funding through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program has assisted NeighborWorks Northeast to finance the cost of construction.

DED has announced the recipients of $2.8 million in federal funding for affordable housing development through the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) for Program Year 2024. DED collaborates with the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority to allocate tax credits and HTF funding for rental housing development projects. These credits and funding benefit households with limited incomes. https://lnkd.in/gkJBvnm2
