About us
DECADES OF SUCCESS. Founder and CEO Don Wells has always understood that the long-term success of DEW is achieved through client satisfaction. In 1997 he founded DEW on that guiding principle and a commitment to earn your trust, respect, and, ultimately, your partnership. DEW's mission is to consistently deliver the best in client services in the marketplace. In 2012, the acquisition of MacMillin, a 66-year-old construction company based in Keene, NH, allowed DEW to integrate resources, capabilities, and industry expertise while creating growth opportunities for employees. Our people are at the core of our success. With an average tenure of 15 years, growing from within is deeply ingrained within our culture. Today, DEW employs over 120 people and has become one of the region’s largest and most respected construction companies serving the northeast out of three locations - Williston, VT, Keene, NH, and Manchester, NH. Client satisfaction is the most important and fulfilling part of what we do every day.

Last Thursday and Friday, DEW had the pleasure of participating in the two-day NH Construction Career Days event, and we had an absolute blast! This event provided a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to the construction industry and allow them to explore potential career paths through interactive, hands-on exhibits and educational resources. Carpenter Rob Ervin and Field Operations Manager Cameron Riley organized DEW's hands-on activity. Students worked together to assemble a NH Construction Career Days 2024 sign and install a light kit. Once the sign was complete, students began signing their names and using it as a photo booth, helping us capture many memories over the two-day event. It was truly inspiring to see so many students interested in the trades. With 1,500 students in attendance, the event was filled with positive energy and enthusiasm. The hands-on exhibits provided an excellent way for students to experience what a career in construction could be like. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful event. Thank you for having us NH Construction Career Days; we are already planning for next year's event! #BuildingWhatMattersMost #FutureBuilders #SkilledTrades #ConstructionCareers #BuildYourCareerWithUs #IBuildVT #IBuildNH

Reaching out for support can be challenging, but taking that first step can be life-changing. 𝐖𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩: - 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭: Open up to a coworker, friend, or family member. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offer free and confidential resources to help you overcome mental health challenges. At DEW, we are dedicated to raising awareness about mental health. We are committed to creating a healthy, safe, and stigma-free work environment. We have a long history of supporting our people and want to see our employees succeed both personally and professionally. We believe our employees' health and well-being come first. Let's continue to support each other and prioritize mental health every day. Knowing how to listen effectively can make a huge difference. Active listening strengthens trust and empathy in relationships. By prioritizing understanding and empathy over immediate responses or solutions, it can motivate others to address their mental health challenges. This approach is a valuable method for offering emotional support and validation. At DEW, we’re committed to fostering a culture where everyone feels heard and supported. Let's make an effort to be better listeners, not just this week but every day. 💚💜💙 #BuildingWhatMattersMost #ConstructionSuicidePreventionWeek #MentalHealthMatters #ConstructionWellness #SupportEachOther #StampOutTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness #TogetherWeCanSaveLives

It's important to be aware of both subtle and obvious signals that someone might be struggling. By paying attention to these signs—in yourself and others—you may be able to intervene and offer help. Remember, talking to someone about your concerns is more likely to prevent a tragedy than to encourage it. Your conversation could make all the difference. 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫: • Withdrawal from friends, family, or activities. • Sudden mood swings or changes in behavior. • Changes in sleep patterns and eating habits. If you notice any of these signs in a coworker or loved one, don't ignore them. At DEW, we’re committed to providing the training and resources needed to recognize and respond to these warning signs effectively. #BuildingWhatMattersMost #ConstructionSuicidePreventionWeek #MentalHealthMatters #ConstructionWellness #SupportEachOther #StampOutTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness #TogetherWeCanSaveLives

In the construction industry, where toughness is often valued, it can be especially challenging to speak up. But acknowledging mental health struggles is not a sign of weakness—it’s a step toward strength. At DEW, we believe that talking about mental health should be as normal as talking about safety on the job site. Let’s work together to Stamp Out the Stigma and support each other. #BuildingWhatMattersMost #ConstructionSuicidePreventionWeek #MentalHealthMatters #ConstructionWellness #SupportEachOther #StampOutTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness #TogetherWeCanSaveLives

👷♂️𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗-𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 👷♀️ Every September, our nation comes together for National Suicide Prevention Month to raise awareness and promote mental health. September 9-13 is specifically recognized as Construction Suicide Prevention Week, a time for us to focus on the mental well-being of our workforce. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠: Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, with the suicide rate among construction workers 5.5 times higher than all other jobsite fatalities and more than four times higher than the general population. With death by suicide on the rise, we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it. With over eight million workers in our industry—and growing—it is essential that we prioritize mental health as much as physical safety. Throughout this week, we will be sharing important information and resources about suicide prevention and mental health, both internally and externally. Our goal is to always foster open conversations and provide support for anyone who may be struggling. Today, at 2:50 P.M., DEW employees—both in the office and on-site—will participate in the first-ever nationwide stand-down for Construction Suicide Prevention Week, observing a one-minute moment of silence to honor lives lost to suicide and reflect on how we can better support our colleagues, friends, and families, so no more lives are lost to suicide. Let’s strive to make every week one of awareness, support, and care. By breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, we can encourage open conversations and create a culture where asking for help is seen as a strength. Join us in raising awareness and supporting mental health in the construction industry. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate community. #BuildingWhatMattersMost #ConstructionSuicidePreventionWeek #MentalHealthMatters #ConstructionWellness #SupportEachOther #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness
