About us
Ideas are transformative. They drive change and new ways of thinking, yet many of the best ideas are lost in the noise of an increasingly complex world. At DEY., we understand our clients’ need for a custom public relations strategy that better articulates and promotes their ideas as a key component of a broad communications strategy. We look beyond daily headlines and the fast moving news cycle to create deeper, more powerful impact and thus, influence. We do this using the tools of media relations and craft of storytelling. Instead of short-term publicity and isolated events, DEY. crafts enduring and powerful campaigns that are designed to build momentum. We connect our clients to key journalists, editors and media stakeholders in print and online channels, broadcast outlets and social media that have global reach and influence in specific areas of interest and expertise. DEY. clients appear in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, The Economist, The Financial Times, and The Guardian, as well as relevant and substantive online media such as Quartz, Vox, Politico, ReCode and Pod Save America. Our clients make frequent appearances on NPR, CNBC, BBC, Bloomberg, and The Daily Show to name a few.

Theoretical physicist Sean Carroll and Oxford's Making Sense of Chaos author Doyne Farmer discuss why economists need to start taking the tools of complexity theory and complexity economics more seriously. "By and large, what we're doing is ignored by the mainstream...Now, things are changing. I sense some cracks opening up. In my career, I've always had the problem that I never fit into any discipline. So I'm one of the most interdisciplinary people around 'cause I've straddled disciplines without being in one through my whole career." Carroll and Farmer explore agent-based models, markets, crashes, overlapping hierarchies, out-of-equilibrium dynamics, nonlinear coupling, and more. "I do think that agent-based models can help guide us better, and maybe once we get good models, we can soften the intensity of those crashes or maybe even just understand how to keep them from occurring. I don't know. The jury's out, but I'm optimistic," said Farmer. https://lnkd.in/dxrAMB3Y

Do sanctions hit Disordering states, like Putin’s Russia or Iran, where it hurts to help avoid future aggression? Or do they facilitate the rise of a ‘Disorderer’s Club’ where sanctioned autocracies merely trade with each other and form common cause against the West? Disorder host Jason Pack and Bloomberg investigative journalist and Punishing Putin author Stephanie Baker explore different theories of whether economic integration prevents wars, the effectiveness of sanctions, the fear of blowback, the role of oligarchs in Putin's regime, and the impact of the ‘oil price cap’ on Russia's economy, and more https://lnkd.in/eg6xE7nE

We all know too much anger isn't good for us, but what exactly does it do to us and our relationships? And how can we tow the line and find a balance between constructive and destructive anger? "Anger, righteous indignation, and outrage is quite literally everywhere...While anger can be useful, it can also curdle into something wholly unproductive that has a slew of negative consequences, including how you view the world and relate to those within it." Allie Volpe spoke with Kurt Gray, a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill moral psychologist, Deepest Beliefs Lab Director, and author of the upcoming book OUTRAGED: Why We Fight About Morality and Politics and How to Find Common Ground on the moral roots of our anger. "'Moral anger” is what drives people to protest, organize, and write to politicians in order to make the world a better place. This sort of outrage is righteous," says Gray. https://lnkd.in/ev7uF_VQ
